Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of technological, organizational and environmental factors on innovation ambidexterity and its influence on the performance of manufacturing small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as the moderating effect environmental dynamism on this relationship.
This paper develops and tests a research model by considering literature that covers TOE antecedents, environmental moderators and performance outcomes of organizational and innovation ambidexterity which analyzes the network of relations using covariance-based structural equation modeling on a data set of 200 Indonesia SMEs.
The result of this study shows that information technology capability, absorptive capacity and environmental dynamism are positively associated with innovation ambidexterity. In addition, environmental dynamism is found to strengthen the positive effect of innovation ambidexterity on firm performance.
The study findings support the idea that innovation can be developed in an ambidextrous manner within a single SME as long as the firm is capable of creating a suitable organizational context and giving a prompt response to changes in the business environment. This paper extends prior literature by analyzing antecedents and outcomes of innovation ambidexterity in manufacturing SMEs.

Abstract

Organizational strategy to increase a sustainable competitive advantage for universities is essential. Competitive advantage is related to organizational strategy stating that the core of the strategy is choosing to carry out activities that are different from those of its competitors. As global competition becomes increasingly aggressive, how to maintain a competitive advantage has received more attention. Management needs to select a different set of activities to provide unique value. Therefore, competitive pressure is related to the organizational strategy used to achieve competitive advantage. Several studies have proven that the intensity of competition among universities has increased significantly.
Organizations need to focus on achieving a position of competitive advantage by growing organizational performance. Resources usually control the competitive advantage of an organization. An organization is determined by its internal resources and its competitive position in the industry concerned. In other words, a company^s Sustainable Competitive Advantage is a competitive advantage in terms of its sources or determinants, in terms of performance, and capabilities that can be achieved through its Resource-Based View (RBV), consisting of attributes Valuable, Rare, and Imperfectly imitable, Organization (VRIO) for managing its resource capabilities to maintain and improve its competitive position sustainably. There are many literature studies on sustainable competitive advantage. However, this study specifically looks at the competitive advantage research literature in universities from 2013 to 2022 in Science Direct, Scopus, Emerald Publishing, and Web of Science.

Universitas Negeri Jakarta

Abstract

The election of outstanding regional heads brings hope for the future of leadership in Indonesia. One of the regional heads is the Regent of Bojonegoro for the 2008-2018 period. This study aims to determine the implementation of leadership that can bring change to the organization of the Bojonegoro Regency Government. By using qualitative methods and phenomenological approaches, this study seeks to reduce Suyoto^s leadership experience to the essence of implementing leadership needed by public organizations.
Through codification using NVivo, ten themes were found, namely: looking for solutions or breakthroughs, pro-people, having certain characteristics, not being distant, having a forgiving nature, having concern, having a vision, being a public bus driver, listening to input, and being an example or model. The results show that leaders need to have the right traits and skills, which are based on the drive to serve. This result should be imitated by other regions in choosing their leaders. But the difficulty lies in the urge to serve, because the urge is not obvious from the very beginning of the election of a leader, but will be tested once the leader gains power.

Abstract

The development of the digital era has given rise to e-wallet technology that helps in conducting transactions, this forces SMEs to follow trends and use e-wallet with the aim of optimizing the performance of SMEs. Many factors influence the use of e-wallet, including Performance Expectancy and Social Influence, but previous theories have not been very clear about the relation to the performance of SMEs. This study aims to determine the relationship between Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, e-wallet adoption and SME performance. This study took 100 SMEs that adopted fintech technology, especially e-wallet as a sample and processed using Smartpls 3.0. The results are (1) Performance Expectancy and Social Influence have a significant positive effect on e-wallet adoption (2) Social Influence and e-wallet adoption have a significant positive effect on the performance of SMEs (3) e-wallet adoption can mediate the relationship between Performance Expectancy and Social Influence on the performance of SMEs (4) this study also reveals that Performance Expectancy cannot affect the performance of SMEs directly but can affect if it is associated with the mediating variable. The limitation of this study is that it does not explain in detail the indicators that most influence the dependent variable, and also does not examine the ability of SMEs that make SMEs decide to adopt e-wallet. So that in future research, it is hoped that SMEs will examine the capabilities that support SMEs adopting e-wallet

Abstract

Aside from the advantages and disadvantages of Islamic financing, the usage of Islamic financing may be related to the personal values of the company^s president director and this is supported by upper echelons theory. Personal values may come from religions or beliefs. Study on the preferences of Muslim president directors towards Islamic financing in Indonesia is still relatively rare to be discussed so it is not widely understood by Indonesia^s population. Therefore, this study examines the influence of Muslim president director on the company^s decision to use Islamic financing in Indonesia based on data from 460 listed companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2020. The relationship between Muslim president director and the company^s decision to use Islamic financing in Indonesia was analyzed through probit logistic regression model. We find that Muslim president director has a positive and significant effect on the company^s decision to use Islamic financing in Indonesia. Islamic financing has a higher probability to be a part of the company^s capital structure when the company is led by a Muslim president director. This implies that our findings support the upper echelons theory.

Analysis of Trading Behaviors of Investors with Compulsive Gambling Symptoms
Aditya Putra Angkasa, Dony Abdul Chalid

Universitas Indonesia

Abstract

The growing popularity of stock market trading in recent years has attracted numerous investors to try their luck in the financial markets. Some investors use the stock market as a substitute for gambling, which is considered an illegal activity in Indonesia. This study investigates the existence and prevalence of compulsive gambling in the Indonesian financial markets. We then test if it is associated with more frequent and speculative trading behaviours, such as higher stock trading frequency, day trading behaviour, and investing in leveraged and other derivative products using logistic regression. Data is gathered in a questionnaire distributed to Indonesian investors, based on a standard diagnostic checklist from the American Psychiatric Association to screen for compulsive gambling behaviour. Investors with compulsive gambling symptoms tend to have a more speculative trading style and trade more actively, supported by their frequency of trades and investing in leveraged products and derivatives.

Abstract

Increasing interest in climate change adaptation requires countries to integrate financial instruments into more sustainable initiatives. The green sukuk, as one of the Islamic financial instruments used for this purpose, has not met expectations even though others continue to show exponential growth. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors causing the low issuance of green sukuk and simulate the green sukuk issuance scenario for project financing. It was achieved through a mixed-method methodology conducted with the participation of players in the Indonesian power industry. As a result, it was revealed that the most significant factors in deciding to issue green sukuk are issuance costs and incentives, which were not optimal. This study provides the simulations which impact decreasing issuance costs and increasing the available cash flow ratio for the coupon.

Abstract

Currently, the sustainability of the organization can be supported through the behavior of sharing knowledge among relevant stakeholders. No exception for organizations in the educational environment, namely the University. The study of knowledge sharing behavior is an important matter to discuss, but studies related to the determinants of knowledge sharing behavior when viewed from the perspective of individuals and organizational management are still very limited. This study tries to explore 2 antecedent variables as part of an important stimulus to reveal knowledge-sharing behavior among educators in Indonesia. This study confirms the conceptual framework of previous research and focuses on variables that have a direct impact on an endogenous variable and become the main problem in this study. The determinants of knowledge sharing behavior are viewed from 2 perspectives, namely individuals through knowledge self-efficacy and from the management side, namely organizational innovation management. The focus on education, especially at private universities in South Tangerang, Indonesia, is part of the sample in this study. This research is based on structural equation modeling using partial least squares to prove the theory of knowledge sharing behavior among lecturers in Indonesia. The results of this study explain that there is a significant direct influence on the knowledge-sharing behavior of the lecturers if the stimulus is using knowledge-self-efficacy in individuals and innovation management in organizations.

Abstract

Experience and skills in reading various environmental changes are the capital in making decisions. These conditions encourage individuals to adapt to environmental changes. Effective adaptive performance requires an individual^s ability to manage changes in the work environment (information technology transformation, job assignments, and organization restructuring). New tasks due to information technology innovation require individuals to engage in new learning and adapt to the environment. Information technology transformation is closely related to the role of digital skills in shaping efficient adaptive performance. The purpose of this study is to describe the role and relationship between digital skills and adaptive performance based on a bibliometric analysis using the VOSViewer period from 2012-2022. Based on the results of literature research through 4 databases (Google Scholar, Scopus, PubMed, and Crossref), we found that 2013 papers use the keywords of digital skills and adaptive performance. Therefore, the number of studies that discuss the relationship between the two variables is still limited.
