Figuring out connections of career adaptability and public service motivation: A bibliography Analysis

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to figure out the bibliographic data to explore the connection between career adaptability and public service motivation. This study adopts a bibliometric analysis methodology using keywords ^career adaptability^ or ^public service motivation^, Scopus indexed publications from 1981 to 2022 totaling 1577 raw data were analyzed with VOSviewer software version 1.6.18. This study finds that the largest number of articles researched in the United States (500 articles) and published in the Journal of Vocational Behavior (130 articles) in 2021, the network map shows no direct relationship between career adaptability and public service motivation. Further exploration finds several words related to career adaptability and public service motivation: organizational culture, leadership, career choice, working conditions, education, creativity, burnout, learning, job crafting, work/job/employee performance, organizational commitment, work engagement, and turnover/turnover intention.
