Abstract

The development of the digital era has given rise to e-wallet technology that helps in conducting transactions, this forces SMEs to follow trends and use e-wallet with the aim of optimizing the performance of SMEs. Many factors influence the use of e-wallet, including Performance Expectancy and Social Influence, but previous theories have not been very clear about the relation to the performance of SMEs. This study aims to determine the relationship between Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, e-wallet adoption and SME performance. This study took 100 SMEs that adopted fintech technology, especially e-wallet as a sample and processed using Smartpls 3.0. The results are (1) Performance Expectancy and Social Influence have a significant positive effect on e-wallet adoption (2) Social Influence and e-wallet adoption have a significant positive effect on the performance of SMEs (3) e-wallet adoption can mediate the relationship between Performance Expectancy and Social Influence on the performance of SMEs (4) this study also reveals that Performance Expectancy cannot affect the performance of SMEs directly but can affect if it is associated with the mediating variable. The limitation of this study is that it does not explain in detail the indicators that most influence the dependent variable, and also does not examine the ability of SMEs that make SMEs decide to adopt e-wallet. So that in future research, it is hoped that SMEs will examine the capabilities that support SMEs adopting e-wallet
