Analisis Efektivitas Model Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi dalam Pembelajaran Abad ke-21: Systematic Literature Review

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas model pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dalam konteks pembelajaran abad ke-21. Kajian ini dilakukan melalui metode systematic literature review untuk menelusuri dan mengkaji berbagai temuan penelitian yang relevan mengenai implementasi serta dampak penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Sebanyak 15 artikel ilmiah yang diterbitkan pada periode 2020 hingga 2025 dianalisis secara komprehensif dengan menggunakan pendekatan PRISMA. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berdiferensiasi memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar, partisipasi aktif, kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreativitas, serta capaian akademik murid. Model ini juga terbukti mendukung terwujudnya lingkungan belajar yang inklusif, adaptif, dan berpusat pada murid, sejalan dengan tuntutan kompetensi abad ke-21 yang menekankan kolaborasi, komunikasi, kreativitas, dan berpikir kritis. Meskipun demikian, implementasi model pembelajaran berdiferensiasi masih menghadapi sejumlah kendala, antara lain keterbatasan pemahaman pendidik terhadap prinsip-prinsip diferensiasi, keterbatasan waktu dalam perencanaan pembelajaran, serta belum optimalnya integrasi teknologi digital dalam proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berdiferensiasi merupakan pendekatan pedagogis yang efektif dan relevan untuk mewujudkan proses pembelajaran yang bermakna, kontekstual, dan berpihak pada murid. Keberhasilan penerapannya sangat bergantung pada dukungan kebijakan sekolah, pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan bagi pendidik, serta komitmen dalam mengimplementasikan prinsip diferensiasi secara konsisten dan berkesinambungan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate teachers^ and students^ perceptions of the development of interactive digital teaching materials for writing report texts for eighth-grade junior high school students. This research will be conducted in four public junior high schools in Jakarta. The participants consist of eighth-grade Indonesian language teachers and students selected through purposive sampling. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaire data are analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, while the interview data are processed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study will describe teachers^ and students^ perceptions of the development of interactive digital teaching materials for writing report texts for eighth-grade junior high school students.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan pembelajaran menulis teks anekdot berbasis pendekatan pengajaran responsif budaya di SMK Santa Maria Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dipilih karena mampu menggambarkan secara mendalam penerapan pembelajaran yang responsif terhadap latar budaya siswa serta memberikan pemahaman menyeluruh terhadap proses belajar yang terjadi di kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dengan pendidik, penyebaran kuesioner kepada peserta didik, serta telaah dokumen pendukung. Sumber data primer penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Santa Maria Jakarta, sedangkan sumber data sekunder berasal dari bahan pustaka berupa buku, artikel, dan jurnal-jurnal penelitian yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menulis teks anekdot berbasis pendekatan pengajaran responsif budaya berjalan efektif. Siswa menunjukkan antusiasme dan keterlibatan aktif dalam kegiatan menulis karena materi dikaitkan dengan nilai-nilai budaya yang dekat dengan kehidupan mereka. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan pengajaran responsif budaya mampu meningkatkan keaktifan siswa, memperkaya ide penulisan, serta menghubungkan pengalaman belajar dengan identitas budaya peserta didik.

Analysis of Teaching Material Needs for Writing Genre-Based Texts, Descriptive Texts with Hypermedia for Grade VII Students of Junior High School / MTs

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain the need to develop teaching materials for writing descriptive texts based on a genre-based approach (GBA) with hypermedia. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach by involving 64 students of Class VII MTs Negeri 20 Jakarta and two Indonesian teachers as respondents. The data of this study was collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings of this study indicate that there are deficiencies in students^ ability to describe objects in detail, formulate ideas, and develop vocabulary. Generally, teachers only rely on textbooks and powerpoint presentations, while the application of the GBA stage and the use of hypermedia are still limited. The results of this study also confirm the need to develop teaching materials for writing hypemedia-based descriptive texts that are interactive, flexible, multimodal, and can provide quick feedback. Therefore, it is hoped that this teaching material can improve students^ descriptive text writing skills in accordance with the demands of learning development in the digital era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengkaji konsep pada penerapan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan menyenangakan dalam menciptakan humor dan menyampaikan pesan moral pada teks anekdot yang diajarkan di kelas X SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan menelaah berbagai sumber teoretis dan hasil penelitian terdahulu yang relevan dengan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, khususnya keterampilan menulis dan penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran yang berorientasi kegiatan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran menyenangkan dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang positif, menumbuhkan motivasi intrinsik murid, serta meningkatkan kreativitas dan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam menulis teks anekdot. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menyenangkan menjadi alternatif yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks anekdot, sekaligus mengembangkan aspek afektif dan sosial peserta didik dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia sehingga dapat memaksimalkan dalam mengembangkan keterampilan bahasa yang relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, khususnya pada lingkungan masyarakat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menelaah penerapan paradigma naratif dalam produksi film pendek oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Sastra Indonesia dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kerangka naratif Todorov diinternalisasi dan diimplementasikan sepanjang tahapan praproduksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi serta pengaruhnya terhadap kompetensi teknis dan kerja sama tim. Pendekatan yang digunakan ialah terapan kualitatif berbasis produk kreatif berupa film pendek dengan judul Berpayung Kelabu yang melibatkan mahasiswa angkatan 2022-2024. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi proses produksi, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen (naskah, storyboard), kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik Miles & Huberman. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan paradigma naratif menghasilkan struktur cerita yang kohesif pada film Berpayung Kelabu, tercermin dari penggunaan simbolisme (payung), pilihan shot dan pencahayaan, serta strategi penyuntingan dan pewarnaan yang memperkuat muatan emosional. Selain memperkaya kedalaman makna naratif, penerapan paragdima naratif mampu meningkatkan keterampilan teknis dan kemampuan kolaboratif mahasiswa. Integrasi paradigma naratif efektif sebagai model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam mengembangkan literasi film dan kreativitas mahasiswa.

Implementation of the Mentimeter-Based Think Pair Share Model in Learning to Read Drama Texts for Class XI Students of SMA Negeri 70 Jakarta

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Think Pair Share (TPS) model in improving the reading skills of 11th-grade students at SMAN 70 Jakarta, specifically in drama text evaluation. A pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest model was applied to 35 students. The findings indicate a significant increase in the average score from 55.57 (pretest) to 85.86 (posttest), along with an improvement in the number of students achieving the minimum learning criteria (KKTP), rising from 5 students (14%) to 30 students (86%). Additionally, the average N-Gain score of 0.71 indicates a high level of effectiveness. Notable improvements occurred in the cognitive, emotive, and evaluative aspects of reading. These results suggest that the TPS model is effective in enhancing students^ evaluative reading skills and supports more equitable learning outcomes.

Interpretasi Nilai moral Anak dalam Cerpen dan Dongeng majalah bobo

Abstract

Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya sastra anak sebagai sarana internalisasi nilai moral di tengah perubahan sosial dan budaya yang cepat. Dalam konteks tersebut, majalah Bobo memiliki posisi strategis sebagai media yang konsisten menghadirkan cerita yang tidak hanya menghibur tetapi juga mendidik karakter anak Indonesia. Urgensi penelitian ini terletak pada kebutuhan untuk memahami kembali bagaimana nilai moral anak dikonstruksi dan dimaknai dalam teks sastra populer anak, khususnya melalui cerpen dan dongeng Bobo.Tujuan penelitian adalah menginterpretasikan nilai-nilai moral anak yang terkandung dalam Cerpen dan Dongeng Bobo dengan menggunakan pendekatan hermeneutika Paul Ricoeur, yang dalam penelitian ini dibatasi pada tahap interpretasi, yakni proses penyingkapan makna teks melalui hubungan antara simbol, tindakan tokoh, dan dunia cerita. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan teknik analisis isi hermeneutik terhadap sejumlah teks terpilih.Analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai moral anak seperti kejujuran, tanggung jawab, empati, kepedulian sosial, dan keberanian hadir melalui pola naratif yang menampilkan konflik sederhana, tokoh anak yang aktif, serta penyelesaian yang mengandung pesan moral eksplisit maupun implisit. Proses interpretasi hermeneutik mengungkap bahwa teks-teks Bobo merepresentasikan moralitas anak bukan sekadar sebagai aturan, melainkan sebagai pengalaman makna yang tumbuh melalui penggambaran tindakan simbolik di dalamnya.

Integration of Talking Book Media At-Tamrin and the Audiolingual Method in Basic Arabic Learning

Abstract

Learning Arabic at the beginner level often faces difficulties in mastering phonetics, particularly in pronouncing Arabic sounds that do not exist in learners^ native languages. This study aims to develop an inclusive and engaging learning model for Arabic phonetics through the integration of Talking Book media and the Audiolingual Method. The Talking Book serves as an effective tool to provide authentic audio input that can be repeatedly accessed by learners, allowing for adaptive learning according to different learning styles and abilities. The Audiolingual Method reinforces habit formation in pronunciation through repetitive listening and imitation of accurate speech patterns.

This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The participants are beginner-level students enrolled in Basic Arabic courses. The results indicate that integrating the Talking Book with the Audiolingual Method significantly improves learners^ phonetic accuracy and confidence in pronouncing Arabic letters. Moreover, this media proves effective for inclusive learning, as it accommodates learners with varying learning speeds and promotes creative and participatory learning environments.

Transforming Positive Language Attitudes into Communicative Performance: Evidence-Based Learning Strategies in Arabic Language Teaching

Abstract

Arabic learning in Indonesian universities has unique opportunities and challenges. Many students show great enthusiasm for the Arabic language and understand its relevance in the religious, academic, and professional spheres. However, their communication skills are often not in line with their positive language attitude. This gap between language attitude and communicative performance shows the need for more effective learning strategies. A 2025 study involving 166 students from the State University of Jakarta (UNJ) and UIN Alauddin Makassar found a strong correlation between language attitudes and communication performance (r = 0.650, p < 0.01). However, positive attitudes alone do not guarantee communication success. At the qualitative stage, nine students with different attitude-performance profiles were interviewed to explore the supporting and inhibiting factors of communication performance. The results show that a supportive learning environment, lecturers who encourage active participation, collaborative interaction between students, and integrative motivation contribute to improved communication skills. Conversely, lecturer-centric learning, lack of authentic practices, and limited interaction during online learning are major obstacles. This study recommends the Four Dimension Communicative Model, which includes: 1) Environmental Activation- 2) Pedagogical Innovation- 3) Psychological Empowerment- 4) Social Integration, as a comprehensive approach to transform students^ positive attitudes into better communication performance.

The Use of Seesaw as an Interactive Medium in Teaching Descriptive Writing to Seventh Grade Students at Bina Pangudi Luhur Junior High School

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of the Seesaw platform as an interactive medium in teaching seventh-grade students at Bina Pangudi Luhur Junior High School to write descriptive texts. The background of this study stems from the low motivation and ability of students to write descriptive texts creatively and communicatively. The Seesaw platform was chosen because it provides interactive features such as task uploads, teacher feedback, and student collaboration that support technology-based learning. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with seventh-grade students and Indonesian language teachers as the research subjects. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and analysis of students written work. The results showed that the use of Seesaw increased student participation in the writing process, strengthened teacher-student interaction through digital feedback, and fostered learning motivation through attractive and easily accessible media displays. The validation results show that Seesaw-based teaching materials received an average score of 4.46 (subject matter experts, 89.3%), 5.00 (media experts, 100%), and a teacher assessment of 100% all of which are classified as very feasible. A limited trial with students also scored 85% (highly feasible). Thus, Seesaw can be an effective interactive learning medium for improving descriptive writing skills at the junior high school level.

The Implementation of Bottom-up and Top-down Approaches to Improve Beginner Students^ Arabic Listening Skills (A Classroom Action Research in the Arabic Language Education Study Program of UNJ)

Abstract

Listening comprehension is a fundamental skill in Arabic language learning that plays a crucial role in developing students^ communicative competence. However, many beginner students face difficulties in understanding Arabic speech due to limited recognition of sounds, vocabulary, and contextual meaning. This study aims to improve students^ Arabic listening skills through the integrated application of bottom-up and top-down approaches. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on Kemmis and McTaggart^s model, conducted in two cycles. The participants were 25 first-semester students of the Arabic Education Study Program. Data were collected through listening comprehension tests, classroom observations, and interviews. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses were used to compare the results of pre- and post-intervention tests. The findings reveal that the implementation of bottom-up and top-down approaches significantly improved students^ listening comprehension skills. Students became more attentive in recognizing sounds and sentence structures, as well as better at interpreting meaning from context. The classroom atmosphere became more interactive and inclusive, accommodating diverse learning styles. Therefore, the integration of both approaches proved effective in enhancing listening skills and promoting creative and meaningful Arabic language learning.

Abstract

Pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, antara lain keterbatasan bahan ajar yang interaktif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa. Bahan ajar yang kurang menarik dan kurang sesuai konteks menyebabkan efektivitas pembelajaran berbicara menjadi rendah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain bahan ajar digital interaktif yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab dengan pendekatan meaningful learning. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah: bagaimana desain bahan ajar digital interaktif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab dengan pendekatan meaningful learning? Metode yang digunakan adalah Research & Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE pada tahap desain. Data kebutuhan dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, angket, dan observasi mahasiswa serta dosen. Hasil penelitian ini adalah desain awal (atau kerangka) modul digital interaktif yang memuat berbagai alternatif pembelajaran meaningful learning yang diimplementasikan pada desain teks dan latihan berbicara. Diharapkan hasil desain ini dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan efektivitas pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab secara bermakna.

Abstract

Pendidikan bahasa Mandarin di Indonesia, khususnya di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Mandarin Universitas Negeri Jakarta, menghadapi tantangan dalam mempersiapkan mahasiswa untuk ujian kompetensi bahasa Mandarin, terutama pada ujian HSK 4. Salah satu tantangan utama adalah penguasaan kosakata yang tidak hanya mencakup pengenalan bentuk kata, tetapi juga pemahaman penggunaannya dalam konteks yang relevan dan aplikatif. Saat ini, banyak bahan ajar yang hanya menyajikan daftar kosakata tanpa memberikan penjelasan yang memadai tentang penerapan kosakata tersebut dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, akademik, dan profesional. Berdasarkan permasalahan ini, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyusun buku HSK 4 berbasis kontekstual sebagai media persiapan ujian kompetensi bahasa Mandarin. Buku ini diharapkan dapat membantu mahasiswa untuk menguasai kosakata yang sering muncul dalam ujian HSK 4 dengan menyajikan contoh penggunaan kata dalam berbagai konteks yang sesuai. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D), yang mencakup analisis kebutuhan, penyusunan materi, uji coba produk, dan evaluasi. Analisis kebutuhan dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi kosakata yang paling relevan dengan ujian HSK 4, sedangkan penyusunan materi berfokus pada penggunaan kosakata dalam situasi yang kontekstual. Uji coba dilakukan dengan melibatkan mahasiswa untuk mengukur efektivitas buku ini dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan kosakata yang telah dipelajari. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa buku berbasis kontekstual dapat meningkatkan pemahaman kosakata mahasiswa serta kesiapan mereka dalam menghadapi ujian HSK 4. Selain itu, buku ini juga memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan bahan ajar bahasa Mandarin yang lebih aplikatif, efektif, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran di tingkat pendidikan tinggi.

Analyzing Genre-Based Descriptive Writing Materials with Hypermedia

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain the need to develop teaching materials for writing descriptive texts based on a genre-based approach (GBA) with hypermedia for grade VII students of junior high school/MTs. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a data analysis method, this study involved 64 students of Class VII MTs Negeri 20 Jakarta and two Indonesian teachers as respondents. The data of this study was collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The findings of this study indicate that there are shortcomings in students^ ability to write descriptive texts, especially in the development of ideas, text structure, and vocabulary. Teachers tend to rely on conventional methods and rely on textbooks and powerpoint presentations, while the application of GBA stages and the use of hypermedia is still limited. There is a high demand with a percentage of 81.11% for digital media that is integrated with the GBA stage. The results of this study confirm the need for teaching materials for writing hypemedia-based descriptive texts that are interactive, flexible, multimodal, and can provide quick feedback. This development is expected to be a solution to the literacy gap in the digital era so that it can improve the skills of writing coherent and creative descriptive texts.

Evaluasi pembelajaran bahasa, khususnya bahasa asing, memiliki keunikan dibandingkan dengan evaluasi pembelajaran pada umumnya. Hal ini dikarenakan dalam mengajarkan bahasa asing, terdapat berbagai faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi pembelajaran selain faktor kognitif, sosial, emosional, dan motivasi (Sina, 2024), yaitu adanya intervensi budaya dan bahasa ibu peserta didik. Intervensi tersebut akan berpengaruh pada hasil produksi bahasa ibu ke bahasa asing. Dalam proses pembelajaran, produksi bahasa dapat dilihat dari keterampilan menulis (sakubun) atau berbicara (kaiwa) peserta didik. Oleh karena itu sebagai salah satu bentuk upaya untuk melakukan evaluasi kurikulum demi peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di tingkat program studi, penelitian ini memfokuskan pada evaluasi pembelajaran sakubun dengan cara membandingkan proses pembelajaran sakubun di Universitas Negeri Jakarta dengan perguruan tinggi lain sejenis, yaitu perguruan tinggi LPTK, dalam hal ini Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unes) dan Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). Teori yang digunakan yaitu teori constructive alignment dicetuskan oleh John Biggs, yang menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran efektif terjadi ketika ada keselarasan antara tujuan, proses pembelajaran, dan evaluasi.

Abstract

The program ^Un jour, une traduction^ is a micro learning-based innovation developed to enhance translation competence from French into Indonesian in a gradual, reflective, and consistent manner. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing a micro learning model grounded in Experiential Learning Theory (Kolb, 1984) in fostering the professional competence of prospective translators. The program is conducted through an interactive website platform that delivers one short text each day for participants to translate in less than ten minutes. Every week, participants join online discussion sessions to reflect on their translation outcomes, explore translation strategies, and understand the linguistic strategies, and understand the linguistic cultural dimensions of the source text. The learning design represents the four stages of Kolb^s experiential learning cycle: concrete experience (daily translation practice), reflective observation (weekly discussions), abstract conceptualization (understaning translation theory), and active experimentation (applying new strategies in subsequent exercises). The results indicate that the integration between daily micro-practice and weekly reflection creates a more adaptive, contextual, and meaningful learning process. The program not only improves accuracy and cultural awareness in translation but also fosters learner autonomy and intrinsic motivation. Therefore, Un jour, une traduction has the potential to serve as an alternative model of translation training that is efficient, flexible, and relevant to the characteristics of today^s digital generation.

Abstract

This study discusses the application of a humanistic approach in learning Arabic at the Darul Fattah Quranic School. This approach emphasizes student empowerment, personal growth, and an inclusive learning environment to increase students^ confidence and motivation to learn. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method of case study type with data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the humanistic approach creates a conducive learning atmosphere and supports students to actively participate without fear. Teachers act as facilitators by providing a variety of strategies, such as group discussions, interest-based individual assignments, and additional consultations through language clinics. This application also increases students^ courage in speaking Arabic, which is supported by teacher motivation and the integration of the material with daily life. This research highlights the relevance of a humanistic approach in answering the challenges of the digital era, creating a superior generation with strong digital literacy.

Abstract

This research examines Betawi Oral Culture and Literature in East Jakarta. This research was conducted as is customary in semiotic research, including interviews, document studies, literature reviews, and field observations. This study aims to analyze the defamation instruments in Betawi mask performance humor from an investigative semiotic perspective. The research method used is a qualitative method with semiotic data analysis techniques. The results indicate that defamation instruments in Betawi mask performance humor can be found in several aspects, namely: (1) the use of words with negative connotations, (2) the use of symbols with negative meanings, and (3) the use of humor that can create negative impressions. This study also seeks to uncover defamation instruments in Betawi mask performance humor, which can be used as a means to criticize or satirize a particular individual or group. However, the use of these instruments can also have negative impacts, such as creating a negative impression or damaging a persons reputation. The conclusion of this study is that the instrument of defamation in Betawi masked humor is a complex phenomenon that requires more indepth analysis. This research is expected to contribute to the development of semiotic and investigative theory in analyzing the phenomenon of defamation in humor.

Translation Strategies of Cultural Terms in the Play, Ngo Pa (Romance of the Sakai)

Abstract

This study aims to 1) categorize the cultural terms- and 2) identify the strategies used in translating the culturally specific items found in the portrayal of the wedding scene of a Thai indigenous group in a Thai play, Ngo Pa (Romance of the Sakai). The play was originally written by His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), and was later translated by Malithat Phromthattavedi. Both Thai and English versions were used as the data for this study. The conceptual classification of cultural terms suggested by Nida (1964) was employed in the data analysis. The results indicate that the translation of 70 cultural terms from the selected part can be grouped into five main categories: (1) ecological cultural terms, (2) material cultural terms, (3) social cultural terms, (4) religious cultural terms, and (5) linguistic cultural terms. Among these, material cultural terms emerge as the most frequent, accounting for 44.3% of the total. In addition, both ecological and religious cultural terms contribute equally, with 20.0% each. Meanwhile, socio-cultural terms account for 12.9%, whereas linguistic-cultural terms represent the smallest proportion, at 2.8%. In terms of translation strategies based on Newmark^s (1988) framework, the most frequently used ones are neutralization, cultural equivalence, and transference, accounting for 35.7%, 25.7%, and 12.9% respectively.

Abstract

This study seeks to identify figurative language and analyze the strategies applied in translating it in the Southern Thai literary work ^Ngo Pa^ (The Romance of the Sakai). Ngo Pa is a play originally written by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in Thai while the English version was translated by Malithat Promthattavedi. The twelve scenes of ^Kanang^s journey to the forest^ to ^Lumhap escapes with Sompla^ as parts of the play written in Thai and the English translated version were selected as data for this study. The Knickerbocker and Renninger^s (1963) classification of figurative language and Mona Baker^s (1992) grouping of translation strategies were employed in data analysis. The findings revealed that figurative language appeared in 23 instances consisting of five types: simile 10 (43.48%), hyperbole 6 (26.09%), personification 4 (17.39%), symbolism 2 (8.70%), metaphor 1 (4.35%), while paradox and synecdoche were absent. Interestingly, it was also found that the top three translation strategies used in translating figurative language were: paraphrasing using related words 8 (34.78%), cultural substitution 7 (30.43%), and using a more general word 5 (21.74%), in descending order.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of student agency as a driving force in revitalizing local culture within art history education through an interdisciplinary approach. Student agency, encompassing students^ voice, choice, and ownership of learning, is considered essential for linking arts education with the preservation of local cultural heritage. Using a literature review method, this research integrates findings from various international and national scholarly sources, covering the concepts of student agency in arts education, interdisciplinary approaches, and community-based as well as digital arts practices. The results indicate that empowering student agency in art history learning enables students to actively investigate, interpret, and communicate local cultural heritage in innovative ways. Interdisciplinary practices enrich the learning process by bridging art with anthropology, digital technology, and character education. Thus, this study highlights that integrating student agency into arts education not only enhances students^ motivation and cultural identity but also contributes to the sustainable preservation and revitalization of local culture.

Abstract

Geolinguistics is multidisciplinary research that combines linguistics (dialect), geography, and technology. In Indonesia, research on geolinguistics has not been widely studied, while in Malaysia, geolinguistic research has become a trend of multidisciplinary macrolinguistic research and inspired geolinguistic research in Indonesia. However, there has been no previous research that links the findings of geolinguistic research with efforts to revitalize regional languages studied as a sociogeolinguistic field based on Geographic Information System (GIS). This study aims to map the phonological and lexical variants of the Betawi language in Balekambang Subdistrict, focusing on sociogeolinguistic aspects to help preserve the Betawi language. This qualitative research took field data through interview techniques with 82 native Betawi speaker respondents in Balekambang Subdistrict, consisting of 3 RWs and 26 RTs. This study focuses on the phonological and lexical analysis of two nouns (/bapak/ and /ibu/) in the Betawi language as spoken in Balekambang Subdistrict, which represents the Central Betawi Malay dialect. The distribution of each phonological and lexical variant was mapped based on the GIS and from distribution of interviews with Swadesh instruments in the adult and elderly populations. Three-four phonological and lexical variants of the Betawi language were found in the Betawi Malay dialect of Middle, Periphery, and Arabic in 2 nouns (/ibu/ and /bapak/). It was concluded that the mapping of the Betawi language in Balekambang Subdistrict resulted in a shift in the Central Betawi Malay dialect with evidence of phonological and lexical variations of the Betawi language that began to mix with the Peripheral Betawi Malay dialect and Arabic. This is because many Arab descendants live in the Condet area, which has a significant effect on the 2 RWs, who no longer have native Betawi speakers. This study provides recommendations to the local government for revitalizing the Betawi language, particularly the Central Betawi Malay dialect in Condet, and suggests that these recommendations should inform policies aimed at mapping the spread of the Betawi dialect in other areas to help prevent the extinction of the Betawi language in Jakarta.

Abstract

Political manifestos serve as vital instruments used by political parties to communicate their ideology, promises, and policy directions to the public. As a form of political discourse, thematic analysis enables researchers to explore the underlying meanings, values, and ideological structures embedded in a text. This study focuses on the Pakatan Harapan Manifesto for Malaysia^s 14th General Election as a key document reflecting the coalition^s aspirations and reformist ideals. The objectives of this study are to identify the main themes within the manifesto text, analyze the use of language and linguistic strategies, and explain the relationship between the identified linguistic themes in the political discourse of Pakatan Harapan (GE14). This study adopts a qualitative approach by analyzing the textual data of the Pakatan Harapan Manifesto 2018 (^Kita Boleh!^) using Braun and Clarke^s (2006) Thematic Analysis framework with the assistance of ATLAS.ti software. The analysis identified six main themes and twenty codes representing the coalition^s political and social priorities. The findings reveal that the manifesto constructs a people-centered and reform-oriented discourse emphasizing well-being, transparency, education, and sustainability, thereby portraying Pakatan Harapan as a coalition committed to progressive governance and the welfare of the people.

Eco-theological Values in the Linguistic Landscape of Pondok Pesantren

Abstract

This study aims to explore the existence of linguistic landscapes that contain eco-theological values in Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren). The research approach used is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation and documentation techniques at the Pondok Pesantren Azziyadah (Jakarta), Mahasina Darul Qur^an wal Hadits (Bekasi), Darussalam (Depok), and Assalam (Sukabumi). From the results of observation and documentation, a linguistic landscape in the form of written instructions containing eco-theological values was obtained, totaling 21 items, with details as follows: (1) messages about maintaining cleanliness (11 items)- (2) messages about saving water (3 items)- (3) messages about saving energy/electricity (2 items)- (4) messages about protecting plants (2 items)- (5) prohibitions against littering (2 items)- and (6) prohibitions against smoking (1 item). It can be concluded that there is a linguistic landscape in the form of written messages containing eco-theological values in Islamic boarding schools, but the number is still relatively small and their placement is not yet spread throughout the entire area of the boarding school. For this reason, it is recommended that the number of written messages containing eco-theological values be increased and their distribution be expanded as an effort to instill eco-theological values among the residents of (pondok pesantren).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk, makna, dan vitalitas leksikon pertanian tradisional yang digunakan masyarakat Desa Medalsari, Kabupaten Karawang, serta merumuskan strategi pemertahanannya melalui pendekatan leksikografi deskriptif. Pergeseran sosial dan modernisasi pertanian telah menyebabkan penurunan penggunaan kosakata agraris tradisional yang merupakan warisan budaya takbenda masyarakat Sunda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan model leksikografi berbasis lapangan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi audio-visual terhadap dua belas informan yang terdiri atas petani aktif dan tokoh adat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 191 kosakata pertanian yang teridentifikasi, 45 % masih aktif digunakan, 31 % bersifat semiaktif, dan 24 % telah pasif. Faktor yang memengaruhi pergeseran leksikon meliputi modernisasi alat pertanian, dominasi bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dan media, serta menurunnya pewarisan antargenerasi. Strategi pemertahanan dilakukan melalui dokumentasi digital dan penyusunan kamus mini berbasis komunitas. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan studi leksikografi terapan dan pelestarian bahasa daerah dengan memadukan analisis linguistik, sosiokultural, dan teknologi digital

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of dance as a medium of cultural acculturation through the creation of Nandak Zabet Tak-Tung, situated within the Betawi cultural framework. The research focuses on the adaptation of Zapin and Samrah movements as representations of Arab-Malay Peranakan cultural heritage. Furthermore, it explores the interdisciplinary connections between the creation of dance, music, scenography, and other artistic disciplines.
Employing a comprehensive approach, this study seeks to contribute to the advancement of knowledge, technology, and socio-cultural as well as humanistic dimensions. The research adopts a qualitative method with systematic stages, including defining the study^s focus, data collection through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The collected data are organized into a structured matrix to facilitate analysis and interpretation.
Theoretically, the study refers to the creative concept proposed by Alma M. Hawkins in Moving from Within, as translated by I Wayan Dibia. This concept encompasses six core aspects: experiencing, seeing, feeling, imagining, transforming, and forming.
The outcome of this research is a choreographic work that adapts Zapin and Samrah movements into a structure that creatively explores movement dynamics and embodiment. Through an imaginative and innovative approach to locally inspired choreography, the study recommends the utilization of movement rooted in Arab-Malay Peranakan culture to enrich the repertoire of Betawi dance. Thus, this research contributes to the preservation and development of contemporary performing arts within a relevant Indonesian cultural landscape.

Abstract

Wayang golek sebagai warisan budaya Nusantara menghadapi tantangan serius dalam mempertahankan relevansinya di tengah dominasi budaya populer dan perubahan preferensi generasi muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi potensi folklor lokal Desa Medalsari sebagai sumber naratif dalam pengembangan naskah wayang golek kontemporer. Melalui pendekatan sastra kreatif, penelitian ini berupaya menjembatani kesenjangan antara tradisi dan modernitas dengan menciptakan bentuk pertunjukan yang tetap mempertahankan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal namun disajikan melalui pendekatan estetika yang lebih relevan bagi audiens masa kini.

Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan penelitian tindakan partisipatoris yang melibatkan secara aktif dalang, komunitas seni, dan pemangku kepentingan lokal. Proses penelitian terdiri dari tiga tahap utama: (1) eksplorasi dan dokumentasi folklor Desa Medalsari melalui wawancara mendalam dan studi etnografis- (2) transformasi folklor menjadi naskah wayang golek dengan pendekatan sastra kreatif yang mempertimbangkan struktur dramatik dan estetika pertunjukan- serta (3) implementasi dan evaluasi naskah melalui serangkaian pementasan percobaan.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengintegrasian folklor lokal ke dalam naskah wayang golek berhasil menciptakan bentuk pertunjukan yang lebih kontekstual dan menarik bagi generasi muda. Naskah baru yang dikembangkan tidak hanya mempertahankan esensi budaya tradisional tetapi juga menyajikan perspektif segar melalui penceritaan yang dinamis dan relevan dengan realitas sosial masyarakat kontemporer. Tingkat partisipasi penonton muda meningkat signifikan sebesar 45% dalam pementasan percobaan, menunjukkan efektivitas pendekatan sastra kreatif dalam revitalisasi wayang golek. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa folklor lokal merupakan sumber naratif yang potensial untuk pengembangan wayang golek kontemporer, sekaligus menawarkan model kreatif yang dapat diadaptasi untuk pelestarian seni tradisional lainnya.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji tentang mencipta karya tari melalui perspektif Alqur an. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Jakarta, Dalam hal ini penulis akan memfokuskan persoalan pada norma agama yang mengikat masyarakat lokal dan Islam yang akan dijadikan sebagai landasan berpijak dalam membahas penciptaan sebuah karya seni.
Pembahasan ini diaggap urgen dan krusial karena Indonesia yang memiliki masyarakat mayoritas muslim harus menjadikan sumber hukum agama mereka dalam menghasilkan karya seni, terutama yang beragama Islam, agar karya seni yang dihasilkan juga mampu memberi pengetahuan dan pencerahan dari segi spiritual. Sehingga karya seni tari yang dihasilkan memilki relevansi dengan nilai dan norma agama Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the role of digital documentation in the revitalization of the oral literature of the Ende Lio community, which is manifested through the traditional ritual of Pati Ka Du^a Bapu Ata Mata. Oral tradition, as a form of cultural expression passed down from generation to generation, plays an important role in preserving spiritual, moral, and social values, as well as local wisdom of the community. However, the current of modernization, technological developments, and changes in community communication patterns have led to a decline in the interest of the younger generation in these oral traditions. This condition raises concerns about the loss of cultural knowledge that contains the identity and collective memory of the Ende Lio community. To address this challenge, this study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive ethnography methods to explore the symbolic meaning, narrative, and social function of oral literature in the context of traditional rituals. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, cultural practitioners, and audiovisual documentation in the field. Data analysis was conducted using Sepretlei^s theory which emphasizes the relationship between language, culture, and technology in the preservation of intangible heritage. The research results show that digital documentation is not only a medium for cultural preservation and archiving, but also functions as an educational tool, interactive media, and a dynamic space for cultural expression. Through digital platforms such as Instagram, it is hoped that it can rekindle a love of culture and bring people closer to their cultural life. Oral literature can be revitalized in engaging visual and narrative forms so that it is more easily accessed, studied, and appreciated by the younger generation.
