Student Agency as a Driving Force in Revitalizing Local Culture through an Interdisciplinary Approach to Art History Learning UNIVERSITAS NEGERI JAKARTA Abstract This study aims to examine the role of student agency as a driving force in revitalizing local culture within art history education through an interdisciplinary approach. Student agency, encompassing students^ voice, choice, and ownership of learning, is considered essential for linking arts education with the preservation of local cultural heritage. Using a literature review method, this research integrates findings from various international and national scholarly sources, covering the concepts of student agency in arts education, interdisciplinary approaches, and community-based as well as digital arts practices. The results indicate that empowering student agency in art history learning enables students to actively investigate, interpret, and communicate local cultural heritage in innovative ways. Interdisciplinary practices enrich the learning process by bridging art with anthropology, digital technology, and character education. Thus, this study highlights that integrating student agency into arts education not only enhances students^ motivation and cultural identity but also contributes to the sustainable preservation and revitalization of local culture.
