Universitas Negeri Medan

Abstract

In the Music for Early Childhood course in the PGPAUD FIP UNIMED study program, the song creation media used has not been integrated with supporting applications to achieve learning outcomes. The limited availability of musical instruments and the low ability of students to play musical instruments certainly greatly affect children^s song creations. The use of applications is certainly an alternative to fulfill students^ artistic competencies as prospective teachers. The low ability of students to play musical instruments is the basis for researchers^ thinking to develop song creation media using the Fruity Loops application which has been given a simple rhythm template and basic chords so that it can optimize children^s song creations. The resulting product will be tested for validity, practicality, and effectiveness. With the tests carried out, Teaching Materials will be produced in the form of an integrated Fruity Loops application module that is valid (suitable in terms of content and appearance), implementative (easy to use by lecturers and students), and effective (can improve the process and learning outcomes of students).
The development model used is the 4D model which emphasizes the need for learning outcomes according to the context (lecturers and students). At the define stage, needs analysis, concept analysis, and musical ability analysis will be carried out. Based on the results of the analysis, teaching materials are designed in the form of an integrated Fruity Loops application module. Abstract

The exponential growth of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) is now creating a highly competitive environment. A variety of strategies have been devised with the intention of attaining a competitive advantage, thereby establishing superiority over rival entities. Conversely, the detrimental impact of environmental damage resulting from the excessive utilisation of natural resources and the subsequent pollution is becoming increasingly apparent. Consequently, the objective of this research is to identify the factors that influence the performance of MSMEs through concern for the environment. The variables employed in this research are green accounting, green innovation, green entrepreneurship, digitalisation, and company value in relation to the performance of MSMEs in Medan City. The research was conducted on MSMEs in Medan City, with a total of 57 respondents. Hypothesis testing employs the Structural Equation Model (SEM). The findings of this study indicate that the implementation of green accounting and green innovation is associated with enhanced company performance, whereas the adoption of green entrepreneurship is linked to an augmented value of MSMEs. The conclusion of this research is that innovations based on environmental considerations and a company^s commitment to environmental protection will lead to improved company performance. Furthermore, there is evidence to suggest that companies that apply green entrepreneurship in their operational activities will increase public trust and, as a consequence, their company value will also increase.

POLICY ANALYSIS OF INCREASING FOOD PRODUCTION IN EFFORTS TO INCREASE FOOD SECURITY IN INDONESIA
Fitrawaty, Indra Maipita

Universitas Negeri Medan

Abstract

Indonesia has achieved self-sufficiency in rice since the New Order era, but unfortunately it turns out that there are still several provinces in Indonesia that have a Food Security Index in the low category, especially in the eastern provinces of Indonesia. The policy of providing People^s Business Credit (KUR) and fertilizer subsidy budgets for farmers is one of the policies aimed at farmers. The distribution of KUR and fertilizer subsidies is not yet optimal, resulting in an increase in the Food Security Index that is still not evenly distributed across all provinces in Indonesia. This research tries to analyze how effective the KUR and Fertilizer Subsidy distribution policies are on the Food Security Index in all provinces in Indonesia, outlining distribution constraints. Next, it is hoped to obtain a Food Security Index Model for each province in Indonesia which can later be used as a basis for policy making for local regional governments. Data from the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) and BPS 20015 - 2023, using the ECM Model, which tests assumptions that must be met. The research results show that KUR distribution and fertilizer subsidies have a significant effect on the Food Security Index in Indonesia.

Universitas Negeri Medan

Abstract

The implementation of monetary policy cannot be carried out separately from other macroeconomic policies. This is especially true considering the very close interdependence or link between monetary policy and other parts of macroeconomic policy. Understanding the interdependence between monetary instruments is very necessary for policy makers to avoid deviations or economic distortions. The research aims to analyze the interdependence of monetary policy instruments in the Indonesian economy during the period 2000 - 2023. The data used is time series data obtained from BI, BPS and other related agencies, using the Vector Auturegression (VAR) model followed by Structural Vector Auturegression (SVAR), which predicts how monetary instruments are related in Indonesia. Shocks are carried out on monetary instruments in order to predict their impact on the economy and find out what impact the shock will have in the short, medium and long term. The research results show that there is a link between monetary policy instruments in achieving economic goals in Indonesia

Abstract

Teaching materials have an important role in the learning process, one of which is to encourage independent learning: teaching materials provide space for students to learn independently. This course requires Graduate Achievements: Students are able to understand economic problems, applicable monetary policies and central banking steps in overcoming economic problems, especially the implementation of monetary policy carried out by the central bank. The scope of discussion includes: introduction, money supply, money demand theory, Bank Indonesia as a central bank, and monetary policy. To make it easier for students to achieve this goal, innovative teaching materials are needed and provide independent learning spaces for students. The teaching materials developed are in the form of three-dimensional augmented reality. This study adapts the ADDIE development model developed by Robert Maribe Brance in 2009 and consists of five stages (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). In this study, it was carried out until the formative evaluation stage, summative evaluation was not carried out due to time constraints. This augmented reality based teaching material has been validated by 3 validators and the results show that the teaching material has feasibility but needs to be revised. After the teaching materials were revised, a trial was carried out in a small group consisting of 10 5th semester students which was carried out randomly. Based on the test results, the teaching materials are effective in the learning process.

Abstract

The curriculum implemented by Unimed^s S1 Economics Education study programme is an independent learning curriculum with a focus on outcomes or Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Based on outcomes, the outcomes in the form of knowledge and skills must be concretely measurable. To get good measurement results, a project-based learning model with an OBE base is needed to be applied to the Unimed Economics Education undergraduate study programme. The OBE-based project-based learning model is expected to improve students^ abilities as reflected in the achievement of their learning outcomes. The method used in this research is the research and development method (R & D). The development used is adapted from the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely- (1). Analysis of student characters and needs, (2). Learning model design, (3). Learning model development, (4). Implementation of the learning model, (5). Evaluation of the application of the learning model. The validity of the product is tested with an expert test, the instrument is an expert validation sheet. Abstract

This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of sustainable natural resource management integration in urban development policies for Medan City, Indonesia. Utilizing data from OpenAlex and analyzing it through VOSviewer and Bibliometrix, the research examines publication trends, key themes, and collaborative networks from 2013 to 2023. The findings reveal a significant increase in research output, particularly accelerating from 2020 onwards, indicating growing awareness of urban sustainability issues. The analysis identifies urban design, policy implementation, and economic aspects as dominant themes, while highlighting a relative underrepresentation of explicit environmental and natural resource management topics as a key challenge. Opportunities for improvement include expanding the strong collaborative ecosystem centered around North Sumatran institutions to include more national and international partnerships. The research contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals, notably SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), but suggests room for greater focus on environmental sustainability goals. The study concludes that while Medan has made significant progress in sustainable urban development research, there remains considerable potential for further integration of natural resource management principles into urban policies to address identified challenges and capitalize on opportunities for sustainable growth.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of previous research which shows that there is a condition in the Malay-speaking community that has reduced the intensity of interaction with its natural environment (Malay ecology). (Adisaputera, Abdurahman. (2010)). Furthermore, the survival of the Langkat Malay language (BML) in Stabat can be seen from the regeneration process of its speakers. In the process of regenerating BML speakers, there are strong indications that young speakers are no longer mastered a number of vocabularies due to the loss of some socio-cultural and socio-ecological elements in the Malay community in Stabat. Specifically, this research aims to explore the phenomenon of shifts in the local character of BML by teenage speakers in Stabat during code-switching and code-mixing events. This research uses extralingual and contextual analysis methods which are aligned with description methods in sociolinguistic studies. The language shift that occurred in the Malay youth community in Stabat was analyzed based on the results of lexical competency tests and lingual forms in their language repertoire. There were 230 teenage respondents who were used as samples for the BML lexical competency test. The research results prove that the lingual forms that appear in teenagers^ verbal communication interactions with various interlocutors show that there are incidents of code switching and code mixing even in familiar domains such as family, neighbors and friendship. In code mixing events, mixed forms of BML and BI emerge. These mixed forms imply a loss of identity in the youth community because the forms that are shifting are typical forms of BML which characterize the character of BML which is different from BI. Linguistically culturally, lingual forms which are markers of identity for BML speakers shift to lingual forms which are markers of identity for BI speakers. The shift in lingual forms implies a shift in the local character of the youth community culturally-lingually.

Unveiling the Ideology and Linguistic Realization of Toponymy in Deliserdang
Amrin Saragih, Maya Oktora, Feriyanti Elina Gultom

Universitas Negeri Medan

Abstract

This study investigates how ideology shapes the naming of district capitals and sub-districts in Deliserdang, Indonesia, and how these names are structured linguistically. It is believed that place names in the region reflect underlying ideologies. Three questions are addressed: the ideology behind the place names, their linguistic makeup, and the reasons for their specific forms. A qualitative descriptive research design is employed. Data is gathered through interviews with local residents and experts, observations, and document analysis. Systemic functional linguistics theory is used for linguistic analysis. The research expects to reveal unique characteristics linked to the ideology behind the creation of these place names by examining them through this lens. The findings contribute to the field of ecolinguistics, informing future research on the influence of ideology on place naming. Additionally, practical applications exist for policymakers involved in regional mapping and business licensing. Furthermore, the research findings can be incorporated into educational materials to foster appreciation for local place names and strengthen national identity.

Sumarsih, Safrida Lubis, Rosdiana Siregar, and Asrita Sari

Universitas Negeri Medan

Abstract

Podcasting has emerged as a promising solution to various challenges in higher education, such as improving accessibility, modernizing educational delivery methods, and enhancing the competitive edge of institutions (Simon, 2010). This study aimed to address these challenges by developing podcast-based teaching media grounded in Outcome based Education (OBE) principles. The focus was specifically on the English and Literature Department, involving both students and lecturers in the research process. To achieve the study^s objectives, a Research and Development (R&D) methodology was employed. This approach included several data collection techniques: observations, questionnaires, and interviews. These methods provided comprehensive insights into the needs and preferences of both students and lecturers regarding podcast-based educational tools. The outcome of the study was the creation of effective educational media that can be easily accessed by both lecturers and students. These podcast-based tools are designed to be versatile, allowing use both within the classroom setting and in more flexible, outside-the-classroom environments. The primary instructional goal of these tools is to aid students in improving their comprehension of narrative texts through listening activities. The developed podcast-based media underwent a rigorous validation process conducted by two subject-matter experts. The experts evaluated the media based on various criteria to determine its validity and effectiveness as an instructional tool. The average validation score given by the experts was 90%, indicating a high level of validity. This high score suggests that the podcast-based teaching media are not only effective but also have a significant potential for enhancing listening instruction in higher education settings. The study^s findings support the integration of podcasting as a valuable educational resource, offering a modern and accessible approach to teaching and learning in higher education.
