CORE COMPETENCIES OF AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN INDUSTRY 4.0: A QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS (CASE: PT XYZ) Maulidna Sagita, Nidya Dudija
Faculty of Economics and Business, Telkom University, Bandung, Indonesia
Abstract
The readiness of organizations in Indonesia to implement industry 4.0 can be measured by referring to the INDI 4.0 index which is part of the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap. The People and Culture Pillar in INDI 4.0 has a greater value weight than the other pillars, because in Indonesia the success and failure of a company^s transformation to Industry 4.0 is very dependent on the readiness of human resources in it. The main factor is that the company must have core competencies, which are related to the skills and behaviors needed so that the company is able to compete and maintain its superiority. It aims to assist companies in achieving competitive advantage and winning the Indonesian market segmentation in the industrial 4.0 era, making a positive contribution to the implementation of industry 4.0 in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach that includes a literature review on industry 4.0 competencies in the manufacturing industry, and a review of the company^s internal documents, as well as interviews with related informants. The strategy is to use a case study of PT XYZ, which is engaged in automotive manufacturing in Indonesia, that is one of five types of industries prepared by the government to engage in competition with other state industries in the industry 4.0 era. The results of the research that have been carried out form four core competencies that are in accordance with the characteristics of the object of research, such as Brand Feeling, Understanding Oriented, Efficiency Oriented, and Spirit of Improvement. However, if there is a potential change in organizational goals and industry trends in the future, it will be able to produce different core competencies as well.

THE EFFECT OF JOB SATISFACTION AND EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT ON TURNOVER INTENTION ON INDONESIAN SHARIA BANKS Nurbaeti, Ratri Wahyuningtyas
School of Economics and Business, Telkom University
Abstract
In 2021, three Indonesian sharia banks, i.e., BRI Syariah, BNI Syariah, and Syariah Mandiri, were merged into Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). The strict competition, particularly in the banking sector, has demanded companies to optimize available resources to support the merging success, including by optimizing the role of employees. Unfortunately, after merging, BSI experienced an increase in the number of employees left, both voluntarily and involuntarily. The high employee turnover rate indicates fundamental problems leading to instability and uncertainty regarding employee conditions. It also harms the company due to wasted time and costs to select and train new employees. Therefore, the company needs to improve employee management to reduce turnover by improving job satisfaction and employee engagement. Hence, this study aimed to discover the level of job satisfaction, employee engagement, and turnover intention rate of employees post-merging. Data utilized in this study were collected through a questionnaire on 499 BSI employees. Data analysis used the variance-based Structural Equation Modeling with the linear structural relation method. The study resulted that the level of job satisfaction and employee engagement of BSI employees were relatively good. However, the turn intention rate was relatively high. The study results also demonstrated that job satisfaction and employee engagement significantly affected the turnover intention of BSI employees. Thus, the company must improve employees^ job satisfaction and employee engagement to reduce the turnover intention rate. One of which is by considering employee salary since the employee satisfaction rate towards salary is the least compared to other job satisfaction dimensions in this study. Future studies can conduct further analysis on other factors affecting the turnover intention of company employees.

Credit Risk Management Strategies in The Banking Industry Before and During the Covid-19 Pandemic Andra Andana-Rahmat Aryo Baskoro
Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Indonesia, Magister of Management
Abstract
In the banking industry, assessing credit risk is critical. This study looks at the components that lead to determining credit risk measurement. Those issues stem from internal and external sources, including the debtors actions and the economic collapse brought on by the Covid 19 pandemic. The research begins by examining the various economic conditions that existed prior to and during the Covid 19 outbreak. Second, it will look at how the Covid 19 pandemic affected banking credit activity. Third, it will also look at banking performance indicators associated with credit risk, such as capital, bank size, net interest margin, return on asset, return on equity and credit growth. The element is then examined to see if it has any differences or influences that significantly impact credit risk before and during the Covid 19 pandemic. Furthermore, determining its relevance is an important aspect of this work. This research employs a quantitative strategy based on multiple regression analysis as well as backward model and a descriptive approach to fit an evaluation method with a particular condition. It is predicted that there will be differences in the bank performance indicator related to credit risk before Covid 19 and during Covid 19. In this case, it is expected that bank management can prepare a risk mitigation strategy based on these results.

Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused more significant travel constraints for domestic tourists traveling to local destinations in Indonesia, whether structural, intrapersonal, or even interpersonal-related constraints. This study was conducted to determine whether there are significant differences in perceptions among domestic tourists of generations X, Y, and Z towards travel constraints during the Covid-19 pandemic. The online survey was conducted on 606 respondents from all three generations. The collected data were processed using One-Way ANOVA with Tukey post-hoc test. The results indicate that there are significant differences in perceptions of intrapersonal constraints between generations X and Z, as well as generations X and Y. Besides, the biggest travel constraint that hindered generations X, Y, and Z in traveling to local tourist destinations in Indonesia is an intrapersonal constraint, followed by structural and interpersonal constraints.

A Conceptual Framework of Smart Consumption to Elevate B40 Household Financial Well-being Muhammad Amir bin Saharuddin* (a), Hway-Boon Ong (b), Lee-Lee Chong (b)
Faculty of Management, Multimedia University, 63100 Cyberjaya, Malaysia

Abstract
The Malaysian household is classified into three categories, the bottom 40 per cent (B40), the middle 40 per cent (M40) and the top 20 per cent (T20) households (Department of Statistics Malaysia, 2020). The 2019 data from the department revealed that B40 households experienced a slower growth in income as compared to the M40 households. A long-term disproportion of income has a negative cyclical effect for the B40 households. This paper will propose a conceptual framework of smart consumption to elevate the B40 household^s financial well-being. The incentive effect, a contemporary argument, explains how intrinsic and extrinsic incentives affect an individual^s decision. Based on the Incentive Effect hypothesis, the theoretical framework of this study is established. Data will be collected in 3 cities in the Klang Valley, namely, Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam and Petaling Jaya. The B40 respondents will be surveyed on their earning capabilities, consumption pattern and payments habits in selected shopping marts such as Econsave, 99 Speedmart, and Tesco. While long term plan of accessibility to education and training is vital, a short term solution of smart consumption may elevate the B40 household financial well-being instantaneously.

Abstract
This research determines the impact of economic conditions on the development of Indonesian life insurance companies. The impact of net national income per capita, interest rate, and inflation rate on gross premium and investment income of all life insurance businesses was explored from 2016 to 2020. This research also investigates whether the market penetration and density of the Indonesian life insurance sector are affected. To all variables, multivariate regression was used in the analysis. Internal parameters such as total asset, ROA, ROE, and debt to equity ratio are also be assessed as control variables to see if they can significantly minimize the uncertain risk posed by macroeconomic factors such as inflation and interest rates. This research found a significant relationship between life insurance gross premiums and net national income per capita, inflation, and interest rates. The dependence of those three on investment income, market penetration, and density is also significant. Life insurance businesses in Indonesia still have poor penetration and density when compared to other financial institutions in other emerging countries. Total Asset, ROE, and DER, have effect on gross premium. Internal company performance, on the other hand, can help to reduce the impact of inflation and interest rates on a company^s gross premium. This study may help life insurance companies in understanding the impact of the national economy on the industry^s development. With all the impact on life insurance gross premium and companies^ investment income, companies should be able to mitigate the risk through product design and pricing.

COVID 19: FINANCIAL SPILLOVER TO EMERGING ASIA^S FINANCIAL MARKET Chandra Susilo (a), Nur Dhani Hendranastiti (b)

b) Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia
Abstract
This paper aims to investigate the role of China compared to the US in transmitting spillover to ASEAN-5 countries (or vice versa) during COVID-19 recession.
We use the DECO GARCH model of Engle & Kelly (2012) to see the dynamic correlation between indexes and the spillover index by Diebold and Yilmaz (2012) to describe the direction of spillover between countries. This paper analyzes daily return data on stock market indexes of China, the United States, and ASEAN-5 for the period 2016 to 2022. The model provides a competing alternative with apparent advantages and results consistent with DCC GARCH model.
The findings demonstrate an increase in positive spillover correlation during the COVID-19 crisis between China and ASEAN-5. The volatility of the US and ASEAN-5 is more stable with a positive correlation even before the crisis. China and the US act as net transmitters (spillover to ASEAN-5 is higher than in the opposite direction).
The findings are beneficial to provide insight into Emerging Asia market connectedness which in turn may guide hedging strategies and portfolio risk management of investment in the region.
The study may contribute to the discussion on volatility spillover and stock market connectedness, especially during the COVID-19 recession in the Emerging Market and Developing Economies (EMDEs).

Do Foreign Direct Investment Spillovers Differ Across Industries with Different Technological Gaps? (Case Study of Indonesian Manufacturing Industries) Yuhana Astuti
Telkom University
Abstract
The interaction between multinational enterprises (MNEs) and domestic firms in the host country has become a central issue. This paper aims to examine the impact of the increasing presence of MNEs on the domestic firms^ productivity and whether the different level of technology gap plays any role in influencing the spillovers focusing on the productivity of domestic firms. The research questions are: (1) Has the productivity of domestic firms in the Indonesian manufacturing industry increased due to the presence of MNEs? (2) Do differences in the level of technology between foreign and domestic firms affect the productivity of domestic firms?. This study covered the difference in the technology gap between MNEs and domestic firms in 24 industries and its impact on productivity. It employed a panel dataset of Indonesian medium and large firms between 2010 and 2015. Fixed-effects estimation methods have been used along with the different specifications of the model. The results reveal that the productivity of most MNE is higher than the domestic firms in all industries. However, even in industries where MNEs are productive, the evidence of technology spillovers resulting from the presence of MNEs is mixed and depends on the industry considered. Similarly, by dividing industries into large-technology-gap and small-technology-gap groups, this paper finds that the level of the technology gap plays a varied role in influencing spillovers in different industries.

Abstract
The growing number of start-up companies, especially financial technology (fintech), has a significant impact on Indonesias national gross domestic product (GDP), contributing to economic growth. However, tech start-up companies fail more than succeed. Study shows that start-ups that apply lean principles result in fewer failures than start-ups that use traditional methods. This study endeavors to elaborate on implementing general practices and challenges of the lean framework in new product development from start-ups based on their funding stages using a systematic literature review and qualitative analysis. We analyzed twenty-eight publications based on their ratings and relevance and conducted in-depth interviews with twelve informants from six start-ups. This research analysis elaborates on three lean start-up implementation frameworks starting from vision, steer, and accelerate, each of which has four different variables. This study reveals fundamental differences between each start-up company in implementing the lean framework when developing new products and the problems they face. It is hoped that this research on lean start-ups can be can be used as a guide for implementing lean startups in new product development by studying information obtained from various startups based on their stage.

Factors Influencing Wellbeing of the Homeless and The Moderating Role of Government Assistance Rishetra Vamalatithan
Faculty of Management, Multimedia University, Selangor, Malaysia.

Abstract
Homelessness has long been recognized as a worldwide problem that affects the poorest people in both developed and developing countries. Homelessness affects thousands of people in Malaysia, regardless of their age group, race, education, professions and geographical regions. All aspects of the human experience are significantly influenced by human needs that promote wellbeing. Basic needs such as food, water, healthcare, education, even shelters have often been difficult to be met. As per researchers, wellbeing is predicated on basic needs being met. Despite many attempts to tackle this enduring matter, however, it seems unresolved and difficult to achieve. At present, the Malaysian government delivers the matters regarding homelessness and begging based on the Destitute Persons Act 1977. As only a few non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are aware of their presence, currently there are no official figures indicating the number of homeless people in the region. The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors influencing the wellbeing of the homeless and the moderating role of government assistance. Data is collected via survey questions and interviews. The collected data has been analysed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Maslow^s theory of needs is used as the central focus on exploring how the attitude of people is stimulated by human desire in different communities in society to meet certain human needs. The structural theory was proposed on issues emerging due to the structure of the nation itself not on the destitute capabilities and government arrangements are best reflecting structural matters. And the Theory of Well-being has elements that leads to well-being. A better formulation of programmes and policies are needed to protect the needs, to be able to improve and promote the wellbeing of the homeless person and eliminate homelessness issues in the country.

Abstract
Architecture is a growing creative industry in Indonesia. The growth increased the competition between architectural design firms, thus pushing firms to increase their job performance. One of the predictors of job performance is leadership style. A promising leadership style in the architecture industry is transformational leadership. The leadership style can influence job performance directly or indirectly by other means, such as CSR. When a leader encourages CSR activities, an increase of job performance can be expected. This research studies the relationship between transformational leadership and job performance, mediated by CSR in the context of Indonesian architectural design firms. A total of 118 samples is gathered through an online questionnaire with the random sampling technique, all of which are architects who worked at an Indonesian architectural design firm. The data is then analysed using the partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) method. This study found that transformational leadership significantly and positively affect the job performance of Indonesian architectural firms. The findings also showed that transformational leadership positively affects the level of CSR activities, and in turn CSR significantly and positively affects the job performance of Indonesian architectural design firms. these findings confirmed CSR as a strong partial mediator between the relationship of transformational leadership and job performance. The finding of CSR as a partial mediator also strengthened the need to conduct further research about other possible mediators that could explain the relationship between transformational leadership and job performance.

Abstract
Innovation is a key factor needed in strengthening the competitive position of a banking institution. There are increasing demands for a bank to innovate, especially in this digital era. Innovative behavior (IWB) is a crucial factor for organizational innovation, including in the banking sector. This study analyzes the relationship between paradox mindset of the employees, servant leadership, IWB, and the mediating role of thriving in the relationships between paradox mindset, servant leadership, and IWB. Individual innovation is accompanied by paradoxical tension. The adoption of a paradox mindset, which reflects the extent to which individuals embrace and are energized by tensions, can help people deal with tensions and innovate. Service is the main attribute of servant leadership, which makes this style of leadership suitable for a service organization like a bank. Data was collected from 296 banking employees. The data were analyzed using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. Findings reveal that paradox mindset and servant leadership positively affects IWB. Thriving partially mediates relationships between paradox mindset and IWB. Thriving also fully mediates the relationship between servant leadership and IWB.
