The Effect of Career Development and Physical Work Environment on Millennial Generation Job Satisfaction (Case Study of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Regional Office of Sumbagut) : A Research Framework

Abstract

Job satisfaction is an important factor for human resources in realizing corporate goals. Job satisfaction must be adjusted to the generation because the job satisfaction factor for each generation is different, especially the millennial generation. Millennial generation job satisfaction is very influential on the performance received by the corporate, considering that the corporate leaders soon will be replaced by the millennial generation. One of the job satisfaction factors for the millennial generation is a career development and the physical work environment. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of career development and physical work environment on job satisfaction of millennial generation employees.
The population in this study were employees of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Regional Office of Sumbagut with all millennial generation employees as respondents. By using non-probability sampling, 180 respondents were selected by purposive sampling. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. Data were collected by questionnaires and documentation studies.
Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the data to get clearer and more detailed results regarding the effect of career development and physical work environment on millennial generation job satisfaction at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Regional Office of Sumbagut.
