Furthermore, the context of village cadres and Posyandu requires strict operational
standards. Without good work discipline, training outcomes have the potential to be
inconsistently applied. Therefore, conceptually, work discipline is appropriate as a
mediating variable because it explains how and through what mechanisms training
can impact cadre performance, although empirically in this study, this mediating
role was not proven significant.
Replies:
Training essentially aims to improve the knowledge, skills, and work attitudes of
cadres. However, this capacity building will not necessarily have an optimal impact
on performance if it is not accompanied by disciplined work behavior. Work discipline
acts as an internal mechanism that translates training outcomes into actual work
behaviors, such as adherence to procedures, punctuality, consistent attendance, and
responsibility in carrying out tasks. Therefore, training will be more effective in
improving performance when cadres are able to apply these training outcomes in a
disciplined manner in their daily activities.
