Abstract
This study is entitled senggol training in kakawihan pupuh balakbak in the choir of grade 7 students at SMPN 1 Purwasari Karawang. This study aims to describe what senggol is used, how is the training process of senggol in the choir of grade 7 at SMPN 1 Purwasari Karawang. Senggol is cengkok in Sundanese tradition terms. The paradigm used in this study is a qualitative paradigm using descriptive methods. The data collection techniques in this study were carried out by observation and documentation. Observations were made by observing the choir training process from start to finish. While documentation was carried out by photographing and recording choir training activities. The findings in this study include, the senggol used in pupuh balakbak are leot and ripple, the training process uses imitation and drill methods. The conclusion of this study is that the results of this training are that students are able to sing pupuh balakbak using senggol leot and riak.
