Abstract

Indramayu, a region with a significant number of female migrant workers, faces persistent challenges related to human trafficking and low digital literacy among its potential migrant population. Limited awareness of trafficking modus operandi and inadequate digital skills render these women highly vulnerable to exploitation and online fraud. In response, this community service initiative introduced an innovative dual-platform intervention: (1) educational pocketbooks as accessible, easy-to-understand printed guides on safe migration and trafficking prevention, and (2) an AI-powered chatbot offering 24/7 interactive consultation on digital safety, migration rights, and fraud identification. Designed to be practical, portable, and adaptive, this approach bridges the information gap while empowering women with critical knowledge and digital competencies. Implementation results indicate increased awareness of trafficking risks, improved confidence in using digital tools safely, and sustained access to reliable information through an inclusive platform. This initiative not only contributes to reducing trafficking vulnerability but also fosters greater autonomy and resilience for female migrant workers entering the global labor market. The model demonstrates the potential of low-cost, technology-enhanced educational tools in addressing complex socio-technological challenges in marginalized communities.
