Abstract
Essentially, a SWOT analysis is a strategic planning method for explaining the condition of a business unit so that it runs optimally. SWOT analysis works by identifying and connecting internal and external factors within a business unit, and utilizing them to achieve long-term benefits. To conduct a SWOT analysis, a business owner can identify the four SWOT indicators mentioned above. This is done by asking questions containing SWOT components such as the following: (a) The company^s internal strengths. (b) Weaknesses that could hinder business performance. (c) Opportunities that can be exploited to develop the company. (d) Threats that could potentially harm the company. After identifying the four SWOT indicators, a business owner can then ask further questions regarding: (a) How the company^s strengths can be utilized to gain existing advantages or opportunities. (b) How to overcome weaknesses that could potentially prevent the company from gaining future opportunities. (c) Maximizing the company^s strengths to face external threats. (d) Overcoming weaknesses that threaten the company from within to prevent creating new threats. People need the ability to conduct a SWOT analysis to start a business or evaluate their business.
