Abstract
Physical fitness is an important element in improving athlete performance. Athletes who have good physical fitness will not experience significant fa-tigue, either in each training session or in competitions. At taekwondo at State Senior High School 1 Tumpang, the trainer has never taken measurements in the form of a physical fitness test and the trainer only focuses on technical training so that when taking part in a taekwondo competition the results ob-tained are very minimal. This research aims to determine the physical fitness of extracurricular taekwondo participants at State Senior High School 1 Tumpang. This research is included in the type of descriptive research with the method used is a survey method using measurement tests and observation tests. The sample used was all taekwondo extracurricular participants at State Senior High School 1 Tumpang totaling 55 students, namely 28 men and 27 women. With a sampling technique using the Total Sampling technique. This research instrument uses the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI) for ages 16-19 years, namely: 60 meter running test, 60 second hanging body lift/bent elbow hanging test, 60 second lying down test, upright jumping test, and 1200 run-ning test/ 1000 meters. Data were collected by means of physical condition tests using measurement tests using the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI) method. The results of the study showed that the physical fitness level of students participating in the Taekwondo extracurricular at State Senior High School 1 Tumpang was classified as very good (0%), good 3 (5.5%), moderate 26 (47.3%), poor 23 (41.8%), very poor 3 (5.5%).
