Abstract

Advances in science and technology have a major impact on human activities, but they also bring changes to the values that guide individual behavior. To address these changes, education plays an important role in developing intellectual abilities, skills, and attitudes that are in line with cultural values. In the learning process, civic education plays an important role in shaping the ideal character of intelligent, skilled citizens who behave in accordance with the context of community, national, and state life. To support this process, research was conducted on the application of values based on Maluku ethnographic character and local wisdom in civic education learning. The aim is to determine the conditions, processes, impacts, and supporting and inhibiting factors of the application of local wisdom values of Maluku in civic education. The study used a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of local wisdom values of Maluku in civic education learning has been in accordance with the curriculum and students^ needs. The learning process is carried out through integrated and environmentally aware habits that have an impact on the development of civic knowledge, fostering civic character, and civic skills. Supporting factors include curriculum policies and lecturer competencies. Inhibiting factors include changes in community behavior patterns that ignore local cultural values, lack of government support in preserving local culture, and lack of funds to conduct direct observation and practice of implementing local cultural values.
