Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta, Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to find out the strategy of twin tolerations in preventing radicalism and terrorism through the practice of learning citizenship and to find out the obstacles of twin tolerations in preventing radicalism and terrorism. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, so the research method uses interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis used was interactive data analysis, and the research was conducted at Universitas Sebelas Maret. The study results show that the strategy of twin tolerations in preventing radicalism and terrorism is effective by providing students with an understanding of twin tolerations. Then after students understand the concept of twin tolerances, they are required to implement it in their daily lives. Through this, it can prevent the development of radicalism and terrorism, especially in universities. The obstacle experienced in providing understanding related to twin tolerations to students is that there are still some students who are apathetic towards the interests of the state, so in their attitude, they are still classified as intolerant. Students^ implementation of the concept of twin tolerations is still not optimal, so in anticipation of the development of radicalism and terrorism in higher education, it is not optimal.
