Abstract
Strengthening national character can be achieved through the transformation of local wisdom values. Indonesia, as a large nation, has diverse cultural characteristics (multicultural). One of the cultural traditions in Tidore Islands District. This research aims to analyze political education through Mayae local wisdom values. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was obtained in 2023 through observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Data were analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation, data verification, and drawing conclusions. As a result, strengthening the national character of the Maregam people in political life has implemented local wisdom, including: 1) Having a cooperative character in making every political agenda a success, 2) Having a democratic character in dealing with differences in political choices, 3) Having an independent character in making political choices, 4) Have a friendly and communicative character in politics, and 5) Have a social caring character for the benefit of the village.
