Abstract
Globalization has accelerated social and cultural changes around the world, including in Indonesia, leading to increased international migration. This article discusses how globalization affects identity crises and migration decisions among Indonesians. Identity crises occur when individuals experience confusion or uncertainty about their identity due to rapid cultural changes. In the context of international migration, globalization often exacerbates this identity crisis by presenting new challenges related to cultural adaptation and social integration. This study uses a literature review approach to examine the factors that influence migration decisions and their impact on migrants^ identities. The research findings indicate that globalization causes significant cultural changes, social isolation, and discrimination, all of which contribute to identity crises among Indonesian migrants. This article also identifies adaptation strategies used by migrants to overcome these challenges, including the formation of social networks, cultural preservation, and cultural integration. Recommendations from this study include psychological support, integration policies, and multicultural education programs as ways to help migrants cope with identity crises and the adaptation process.
