Economic potency of green mushell production in Cengkok Estuary in Banten Bay West Java Sugiarti and Relita Novianti

Abstract
This research is aim to reveal the economic potency of the development of green mushell production in cengkok estuary in Banten Bay West Java. Cengkok estuary is known as a fishing area that supports people, especially fishermen who lived surrounded the area. There is an area for aquaculture, agriculture, and fishing settlements in Cengkok that could affect water quality and fish production including green mushell. In the past, green mushell production has been established in this area, but lack management could not bring successful production for this product. This research analyzes water quality and whether it^s supported or not for green mushell production and analyzes economic potency such as market potency, product advantages, and disadvantages. Physical and chemical parameters which measured are brightness, pH, dissolved oxygen, water temperature, turbidity, conductivity, salinity, water current, Total Dissolved Solids, Total Suspended Solids, Chlorophyl-a, Total Nitrogen, Total Phosphorous, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Metals Pb, Fe, and Cr. Water sampling was conducted in April and October 2021. Determination of water quality status using the pollution index. Determination of economic potency is done by interviewing the fishermen and market research.
