MODEL OF INDONESIAN READING MATERIALS BASED ON LOCAL WISDOM WITH QUANTUM APPROACH (Research and Development of Teaching Materials in Class IV Elementary School in South Nias Regency)

Abstract

The ability to read is one of the important aspects of the four abilities that must be mastered by students. The ability to read is the main key for students to acquire knowledge that supports the development of reasoning, socio-emotional and learning achievements. Learning to read at school will be more meaningful if it is supported by appropriate teaching materials, namely by using familiar materials in students^ lives. This study develops teaching materials for reading Indonesian in Grade IV Elementary Schools based on Local Wisdom with a Quantum Approach at State Elementary Schools in South Nias Regency. This research began in September 2018 until March 2019. The sampling technique in this study was carried out randomly. The number of samples in this study found 92 students and 5 teachers in grade IV Elementary School. Mean while, data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires and tests. Research data were analyzed using t-test. Based on the results of the study obtained tcount of (23.40) higher than t-table of (2.63). In other words, there is a significant difference between the two variables in this study. So, based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the teaching materials for reading Indonesian based on local wisdom with a Quantum approach are very effective for learning to read in grade IV of the South Nias Regency State Elementary School.
