Abstract
Business graduates must have expertise in using the English language. The skills needed are not only related to speaking skills but also reading and writing. These skills must be in line with industry needs such as students being able to make business presentations, manage meetings, carry out conversations in the office, conduct correspondence, and write business reports. Most university students intend to work immediately after finishing their studies. In fact, if graduates have skills that are in demand in the industry, they will be hired. Business English is part of special purpose English or commonly known as ESP. The goal of this study is to identify appropriate English materials that meet industrial needs in order to improve students^ language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking for accounting and management departments. This study employed qualitative method and used questionnaires as the research instrument, which was distributed to 5 industries, 10 English teachers, 10 accounting teachers, 10 management teachers and 50 students. Data analyzed using qualitative or non statistical analysis. The result shows different materials relate to different skills. In conclusion, Business English teachers must be able to create English materials that improve students^ English abilities and suit industry demands.
