Abstract

Braindance based on multicultural education in the context of physical education for children can be a promising innovation in introducing regional culture. This program is also applied to early childhood education to stimulate working memory skills, inhibition control, and mental flexibility. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the braindance based on multicultural (BBM) program to improve children^s executive function skills. This study used the Solomon-4 experimental design, in which 44 young children as participants were included in each group. The results showed no difference in executive function skills between the two assessments for the control group (groups 2 and 4) but found a significant effect for children in groups 1 and 3 whose executive function improved significantly after receiving a six-month exercise program. Given our observed interaction effects of the pretest and intervention on executive function, we encourage the researchers to investigate the potential synergies of educational dance programs for other aspects of child development.
