Abstract

This paper describes the importance of the existence of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in exploring the local potential of the village as the ability of the village. It is contained in law Number 6 of 2014 on villages. The local potential is the power or strength that each village has to be developed to improve the welfare of the community. BUMDes is a village economic institution that has an important role in realizing the welfare of the community. The problem present today is the lack of optimal role of BUMDes in gathering local potentials present in the village, so it is necessary to revitalize BUMDesa in exploring the local potential of the village. Professional BUMDes governance can be part of efforts to improve the local economy as part of the village^s local potential. Revitalization of BUMDes aims to strengthen the function of BUMDes itself as a container in exploring the local potential of the village. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Shortly, the position of BUMDes is felt to be very strong in exploring the local potential of the village. So, the most appropriate preparation is centered on socialization, education, and training to parties with an interest in improving the living standards of rural communities.
