Abstract
The growth and industrial development of the city of Sorong, which is increasingly advanced, has had a significant impact on the hydrological cycle which affects rivers, especially the Klagison River, which is a river that is prone to flooding. One of the problems that occurs in the river is sedimentation, the problem begins with erosion in the upstream and sand washing activities where the waste is disposed of in the river channel without any waste collection tanks. This study aims to analyze sedimentation by predicting the total sediment load through sediment characteristics using modeling. Modeling using HEC-RAS to analyze sedimentation. The results of the analysis of sediment characteristics in the laboratory were found in the upstream, middle and downstream rivers of sediment grains with a diameter of 0.022 mm - 3 mm. The results of the sediment transport analysis in the modeling show that there is agradation and degradation caused by the velocity of the river flow. The total amount of sediment load that occurred during the 5 year simulation was 124,007.647 tonnes, this can be concluded that the sediment load causes water run off to residential area due increased sediment deposited with the greatest height of agradation 64.9 cm.
