Abstract

Currently, environmental issues continue to be a never-ending study, even during the pandemic. Again, the problem that arose later was the emergence of medical waste due to the Covid-19 outbreak. This means that our concern for waste literacy is still far from expectations. However, continuous efforts to reduce waste is a collective obligation. In one of the themes of elementary school thematic teaching materials, the theme of the environment is discussed. This study proposed a model of teaching materials that can be developed and integrated with other teaching materials. The development of environmental thematic teaching materials in elementary schools is based on the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor approaches of students. This material development model is based on an in-depth literature review and focused group discussion between researchers and teachers. Tomlinson^s model of material development and qualitative method applied in the study. The output of product development is an environmental thematic worksheet that can be used in the learning process. One of the results of this worksheet, students can make a product in the form of a poster about environmental awareness. Hopefully, waste literacy development can be developed from primary graders in the Indonesia context.
