Abstract
The increase in the number of students each year has an impact on the number of vehicles entering the parking lot at the Muhammadiyah University of Sorong, resulting in an increase in the need for parking spaces. the research was conducted to increase the efficiency of parking area utilization. The research was conducted by collecting primary data in the form of incoming and outgoing vehicles and secondary data obtained from the measurement of the parking area and buildings, using the analysis method of parking demand characteristics and parking demand standards based on the Directorate General of Civil Aviation 1996. Land transportation. The results of this study obtained space requirements. Motorized vehicle parking is 623 SRP, in one hour and a parking index of 2.11 and four-wheeled 47 SRP and a parking index of 4.67.
The results of this analysis show that the parking index value is greater than 1, which means the parking facility is problematic, where the parking demand exceeds the capacity.
