Abstract
The Sundanese people are the second largest ethnic group in Indonesia with a population of nearly 50 million people. As a large ethnic group, the Sundanese people are believed to have developed a distinctive perspective on various aspects of life including expressing a healthy culture. There are local values in Sundanese culture that are passed down from generation to generation, but the Sundanese people tend to ignore it. It is proven that until now research in this field is very rarely carried out. Even though the understanding of these local values is strategic and can be an entry point to be able to overcome the pandemic so that it does not continue to spread, especially around West Java where the Sundanese people live. This study aims to explore the expression of healthy culture in Sundanese society with a focus on the following two questions- (1) what are the main Sundanese ethnic ideas about health? And (2) how is the Sundanese ethnic expression regarding the concept of health? By using the method of paremiological analysis, this study found 3 main ideas in accordance with the WHO health concept, namely physical health, mental health, and spiritual health. The Sundanese people express health as something very important and always want to prepare their children to be healthy and healthy, who are strong physically (physically), mentally (mentally), and spiritually.
