Abstract
Lupus or systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disorder that involves many organ systems, can be life threatening. Death in SLE patients caused by worsening lupus activity, lupus complications or to the long-term sequele. Lupus founds 10 times more in women than men. SLE ranked as the 10th leading cause of death in young women and as the autoimmune disease that leading cause of death in young women. Death associated with SLE mainly caused by active disease, organ failure, infection, or cardiovascular disease. Pregnant women with SLE are at a higher risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. Prevalence of lupus is primarily in younger ages women and productive ages women, they are at a greater risk for life-threatening consequences of this disease. So, fast and precise diagnosis, proper treatment, and education to the public about the dangers of lupus are needed to reduce lupus mortality in younger ages women.
