Abstract
The increasing number of divorces in Indonesia in the last 10 years is mostly caused by disharmony relationships between partners. This is related to the readiness to face problems in the household and the low level of knowledge about the rights and obligations as a wife and husband. This study aims to determine the aspects that need to be evaluated in the pre-marital education learning process and to analyze the impact of the material provided for pre-marital guidance. This research approach is qualitative by using a tringulation approach consisting of in-depth interviews, field observations, and document review which is useful for explaining how the smooth implementation of guidance is in accordance with the expected results. The research was conducted in the North Polombankeng sub-district, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi.
The results obtained are several aspects that need to be evaluated in the implementation of pre-marital guidance, including the material and process of implementing the guidance itself. The conclusion of this study is that there is a need for a gender-based handbook module for extension workers and staff as well as permanent regulations that are useful for the smooth running of the pre-marital guidance process.
