Abstract
Skeletal muscle complaints occur due to excessive muscle contraction as a result of freight hauling by relying on human power or MMH (Manual Material Handling) caried out by workers such as in rice mill. If this activity is carried out repeatedly over a long distance and with a heavy load, it has the risk of the development of Musculeskeletal Disorders (MSDs). This study aims to determine the risk factors for compliants of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) among in rice mill workers in Pulosari Sub-district, Pandeglang District in 2020.
This was a quantitative study with a cross sectional design. The data collection was conducted by interviewing using a questionnaire and observation. Population and samples were colelcted using total sampling namely all rice mill workers in Pulosari Sub-district as many as 170 people. The statistical test used the chi square test with a confidence level of 95% (p value <= 0.05).
Chi square test results showed that there was a relationship between years of service and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) complaints with p value = (0.00), while there were no relationships between age with p value = (0.649), length of work with p value = (0.744), workload p value = (0.285), and BMI with p value = (0.079) with complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among rice mill workers.
