Abstract

Liver damage due to the use of paracetamol is a serious health problem that can lead to death. Hepatotoxicity that occurs due to paracetamol is due to the excessive production of N-acetyl-para-benzokuinone imine NAPQI, if NAPQI acts with fatty acids in liver cells, it will cause fragility. cell walls, damage to cell structures, impaired liver function, and trigger various diseases. Papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.) contain secondary metabolites that function as antioxidants, compounds that have antioxidant activity are flavonoids. Flavonoids themselves have a hepatoprotector effect by acting as an antidote to free radicals that bind to reactive oxygen species (ROS) and increase activity. antioxidants present in the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the hepatoprotector activity in the ethanol extract of papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.), and to determine the most effective dose of papaya leaf extract (Carica papaya L.). The results of SGOT and SGPT levels showed that the ethanol extract of papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.) at a dose of 60 mg / 200gBB for rats and 120 mg / 200gBB for rats could reduce SGOT levels, while the SGPT levels at doses of 30, 60, and 120 mg / 200gBB rats can reduce SGPT levels. The dose that was most effective in reducing SGOT and SGPT levels was 120 mg / 200gBB of rats
