Abstract
Research on mindfulness has been growing in its scope within organizational settings. This research aimed to describe dispositional mindfulness on the employees of the railway transportation service provider in Jakarta, Indonesia. Survey research was conducted by distributing the Dispositional Mindfulness at Work Scale to the employees. The sampling was taken by using a dense sampling technique. The participants were 357 employees from different job levels, consisting of managers, supervisors, and staff. The researchers used descriptive statistics analysis and inferential analysis using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software for Windows 21.0. The results showed that generally, the respondents have strong dispositional mindfulness. Then, the result of the inferential analysis showed that there are significant differences among dispositional mindfulness in terms of age and education level of employees. The dominant component of dispositional mindfulness shown by the employees is awareness, followed by other components such as acceptance, attention, and present-focus. This study contributed to the literature regarding mindfulness in an organizational setting. The practical implication of this study suggests that the management of the railway transportation service provider can initiate programs that can increase dispositional mindfulness to improve work performance and service quality.
