Abstract

The Sundanese people knows the leaves of the plant hantap (Sterculia Lychnophorae) have various benefits. The efficacy of hantap leaves is due to the flavonoids which in research can have diuretic properties. This study aims to determine the diuretic effect of hantap leaf extract (HLE) in male albino rats. Pre and posttreament diuretic testing for 6 hour were divide into 4 group doses of HLE and as positive control are furosemide. Measurement of the diuretic effect using the lipschitz method. Skrinning fitokimia shows positive for flavonoid. Diuretic effects showed there was an increase in urine output after giving HLE. Diuretics Pre and post was also a significant difference (P&#8804-0.05). The data showed that urine (ml) all of groups pre and post treatment (A,B,C,D) were pre (0.72), (0.58), (0.82), (0.66)- post (6.36), (5.36), (5.92), (7.3)- furosemide are pre (0.70) and post (4.5). Diuretic potential based on the lipchitz value (T / U) of the HLE was 1.68, 2, 1.88, 1 with pH (6-7), prostest sodium levels (mEq / L) 99.1- 102.6- 109.4- 116.) and furosemide 102.6. Conclusion of this study is that HLE has a strong potentiall diuretic effect by removing water and sodium.
