MODEL OF SPIRITUAL THERAPY TO REDUCE ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION IN HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS

Abstract

Background: the prevalence of chronic renal failure patients who should to hemodialysis treatment had experienced depression is 61.9% male and 38.1% female, 47.5% mild anxiety, 48.75% moderate and severe anxiety, 3.75% nothing anxiety. Objective: to determine the effectiveness of spiritual healing on depression and anxiety in hemodialysis patients. Methods: quasi-experimental research design, numerical comparative, 105 respondents, purposive sampling, using HDRS and HARS instruments, univariate and bivariate analysis used Wilcoxon test, Results: characteristics of respondents based on gender are mostly male 55 respondents (52.4%), age Most respondents were early elderly (46-55) 19 respondents (31.7%), most education was SMA / SMK 41 respondents (39%), most jobs were entrepreneurial / self-employed 31 respondents (29.5%), most respondents had the most dialysis duration 1- 3 years 38 respondents (36.2%), the most respondents ^level of depression was moderate depression 43 respondents (41%), the most respondents^ anxiety level was moderate 46 respondents (43.8%), 100% carried out spiritual healing, after spiritual healing did not experience depression 86 respondents (81.9%) and no anxiety 89 respondents (84.8%), 104 respondents with depression decreased, 1 depressed person increased, 95 decreased anxiety and 10 remained anxious. The correlation test between depression and anxiety yields a value of P = 0.001, the Spearman correlation value is 0.315 which indicates that there is a significant relationship between depression and anxiety, and both have a positive correlation, where anxiety increases, depression increases. Conclusion: spiritual healing can reduce depression and anxiety. Suggestion: continue with predictive multivariate research and make the research results for intervention in the Hemodialysis Room.
