Abstract

This qualitative study aims to describe the statistical literacy of primary school students in West Sulawesi, Indonesia. This study involved 46 sixth-grade primary school students in West Sulawesi, Indonesia, who voluntarily participated as respondents. Data were collected by administering a statistical literacy test comprising three questions. The data obtained were analysed through three stages: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the statistical literacy of grade 6 primary school students in West Sulawesi, Indonesia, is still lacking in some aspects and is quite good in others. Students in this case are still lacking in terms of their inability to comprehend statistical concepts, limited insight into the application of statistical concepts, and communication skills. As for the students, they are good enough in terms of numeracy and interpretation skills, as well as the ability to make tables and graphs.
