Abstract

Developing strong digital pedagogical competencies among prospective mathematics teachers is essential for improving the quality of mathematics instruction, yet achieving this outcome remains challenging. One promising approach is supporting pre-service teachers in designing and implementing interactive learning media. This study investigates how the development of such media can enhance prospective teachers^ digital pedagogical competence. Using a Design-Based Research (DBR) methodology, the mentoring process was iteratively designed, implemented, and refined across multiple cycles. Four pre-service mathematics teachers from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta participated in the study. The findings indicate that structured guidance in creating interactive learning media significantly strengthened participants^ digital pedagogical skills, particularly their ability to integrate interactive technologies into mathematics teaching. This work offers implications for adaptive and innovative mathematics instruction and contributes to broader efforts aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those related to quality education and educational innovation.
