Abstract

This study aims to explore students^ preferences for learning models used in field practice. The research employed a survey method involving students from the Physical Education study program who had previously participated in field practice courses. The research instruments consisted of questionnaires and open-ended interviews administered to respondents to measure their tendencies in selecting among various learning models. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods to identify the most favored learning models. The findings reveal that the majority of students prefer expository, project-based learning, and inquiry models. The expository model is considered helpful in providing clear procedures and direct guidance before the practice is carried out. Project-based learning is regarded as offering real experiences through the design and completion of projects relevant to field needs. Meanwhile, the inquiry model is valued for fostering critical thinking, exploration, and independent problem solving. These results suggest that a combination of explicit instruction (expository), real project involvement (project-based learning), and discovery processes (inquiry) can serve as an effective alternative strategy for field practice learning that aligns with students^ needs.
