Abstract

ABSTRACT
Background: Stunting falls into the category of chronic nutritional problems in children, which is currently a top priority for nutritional issues in Indonesia.

Methods: This study uses a literature review method by collecting and examining previous research with the aim of deeply describing and analyzing the implementation of stunting prevention efforts.

Results: Efforts to prevent stunting in toddlers are influenced by several factors, and factors related to stunting prevention efforts are closely linked to specific and sensitive interventions, the socio-economic conditions of the community, the role of ^kader^ as implementers, managers, and growth and development monitors. Personal factors such as knowledge about stunting and attitudes toward authoritarian and permissive parenting styles, lack of socialization and education on stunting prevention, providing micronutrient supplements to pregnant women and children, the culture of a society, lack of participation from all segments of society through community empowerment efforts, and strong cooperation between the community, health workers, and local government.

Conclusion: Efforts to prevent stunting in toddlers must be carried out jointly by healthcare workers and the community, as well as the commitment of the toddlers^ parents themselves to provide patterns of stimulation, affection, and care to toddlers, starting from the first 1000 days of life, from conception until the toddler is 2 years old.

Keywords: stunting prevention, stunting mitigation efforts, child nutrition intervention
