THE EFFECT OF THE H.E.N.Y.S MODEL (Holistic, Empathy, Nurturing, Your spiritual care) ON GLYCEMIC CONTROL, PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING AND SPIRITUAL WELL-BEING OF TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS

Abstract

Background : The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) reports that in 2021, there were approximately 537 million adults living with diabetes, and this figure is expected to reach 643 million by 2030.
Holistic care has gained widespread attention in modern nursing practice. This approach integrates physical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions in an effort to improve patients^ quality of life. One innovation in this area is the H.E.N.Y.S. (Holistic, Empathy, Nurturing, Your spiritual care) Model, a nursing intervention model that combines empathy, ongoing coaching, and spiritual support as an integral part of T2DM management. This model is designed to strengthen the nurse-patient relationship, encourage patient independence in disease management, and improve overall well-being.
Objective:This systematic literature review aims to critically evaluate the impact of the H.E.N.Y.S model (Holistic, Empathy, Nurturing, Your spiritual care) on glycemic control, psychological well-being, and spiritual well-being among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Specifically,
Methods : Keywords and Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) terms related to ^H.E.N.Y.S model,^ ^holistic nursing,^ ^spiritual care,^ ^psychological well-being,^ ^spiritual well-being,^ and ^type 2 diabetes mellitus^ were applied. Inclusion criteria encompassed peer-reviewed experimental or quasi-experimental studies evaluating the H.E.N.Y.S model or comparable holistic-spiritual nursing interventions with outcomes on glycemic control, psychological well-being,
