Abstract

Background: Nocturnal emissions are an early sign of puberty in boys, indicating biological readiness to reproduce. However, the lack of information and taboo assumptions make children feel anxious and not ready to face it.
Purpose: This study aims to find out the picture of readiness to face nocturnal emissions in pre-adolescent boys at SD Negeri Kasongan.
Methods: This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive type and a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study consists of pre-adolescent boys in grades 3-5 of an elementary school, aged 9-12 years, who have not experienced wet dreams, comprising approximately 65 students. This sample selection technique involves using all members of the population as samples. This research was conducted at SD Negeri Kasongan in April 2025. The research instrument used is a readiness questionnaire that covers aspects of understanding, appreciation, and willingness, which have been tested by experts and undergo validity and reliability tests. Univariate data analysis is classified and presented in the form of a frequency distribution.
Results: The study^s results showed that most respondents (81.5%) were not ready to face nocturnal emissions.
Conclusion: The majority of pre-adolescent boys are not ready to face nocturnal emissions, so education is needed early to increase their readiness.
