ANALYSIS OF BARRIERS TO PHYSICAL EDUCATION SERVICES DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC FOR DEAF STUDENTS

Abstract

This study aims to determine the barriers to online physical education services during the Covid-19 pandemic for deaf students. The research method used is a case study method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews and qualitative questionnaires on ten deaf students and a PJOK teacher. The ten deaf learners are class XII students. The data analysis technique in this study is by classifying the responses or answers of research participants. The results of this study show that the online physical learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic in the participants studied still experienced major obstacles in terms of educational services in terms of facilities and infrastructure. Then in the second position there are obstacles from the aspect of implementing learning, Furthermore, from the aspect of assessment there have been no significant obstacle findings in percentage terms. The implementation of online learning contains challenges that then encourage the strategy of PJOK teachers in overcoming these obstacles. Another result of this study is the strategy of teachers in overcoming barriers to physical education services. These strategies include adjusting lesson plans to children^s needs, creating communication networks, utilizing WhatsApp Groups for video assignment collection, and starting learning with games such as guessing pictures. Future improvement efforts suggested by physical education teachers are by monitoring the online learning process and evaluating the online learning process to improve and develop the implementation of online learning.
