Deviant Behavior in Sport Team (Case Study in Indonesian Woman^s Futsal) Faculty of Sport Science, State University of Jakarta Abstract Futsal, a high-intensity sport involving rapid direction changes and played by two teams of five, has rapidly grown in popularity in Indonesia, including among women. Despite this progress, there is a concerning trend of deviant behavior among female futsal players, particularly relating to sexual orientation. Deviant behavior, defined as actions that diverge from societal norms, encompasses a range of activities from minor infractions to significant moral breaches. Recent observations indicate that some female futsal players are shifting their sexual orientation towards lesbianism and adopting more masculine appearances, such as cutting their hair short and wearing men^s clothing. This shift, often accompanied by same-sex attraction, is seen as a deviation from the prevailing social norms in Indonesia, a predominantly conservative society. The objectives of this study are to explore the psychosocial factors contributing to these behavioral changes and assess the implications for the players and the broader societal response. Methodologically, this research employs qualitative analysis to gather insights from interviews and observations of female futsal players. The findings suggest that while fidelity in lesbian relationships indicates strong mutual commitment, societal acceptance remains limited, impacting players^ experiences and perceptions. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of how these factors influence deviant behavior in female futsal players and the broader implications for societal attitudes towards sexual orientation in sports.
