Profile of Student Environmental Literacy: Case Study at Musamus University

Abstract

Environmental literacy is defined as environmental literacy which includes knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors towards preventing and overcoming environmental problems and their relationship with social systems. Building students^ environmental literacy can be done in various ways, one of which is the learning process at the university. This study aims to analyze the environmental literacy of physics education students. This study uses quantitative descriptive method. The subjects in this study were 40 physics education students. Data were obtained using an environmental literacy instrument consisting of knowledge, attitude and behavior domains. The results of this study indicate that student environmental literacy in the knowledge domain is in the high category with a percentage of 75%, the attitude domain is in the medium category with a percentage of 59% while the behavior domain is in the low category with a percentage of 40%. The results of this study are expected to be a reference to increase awareness and concern for the environment.
