Utilization of IoT Technology for Water Management in Integrated Agriculture: Mathematical Model for Efficiency and Sustainability Universitas Musamus Abstract Water management is one of the most important factors to be managed efficiently and in a sustainable manner for integrated agricultural systems in tropical (e. g. Merauke, Papua). They plan on producing a model using IOT to optimize water usage in rice fields at the month of April. The implementation involves operating in the field IoT sensors network installation for collecting real-time data of soil moisture, rainfall and evapotranspiration. A mathematical model was proposed using this data to develop a scenario with significant savings on irrigation water applying just enough water to maintain the moisture around the autochambers to the levels necessary for optimum development of the rice plant. The findings indicate that irrigation water use can be reduced by up to 70% compared to traditional methods, without compromising crop productivity. Furthermore, there are positive environmental impacts, including reduced soil erosion and increased biodiversity in the study area. This research suggests that the use of IoT technology and mathematical models in water management within integrated agriculture can promote agricultural sustainability and food security in Merauke. The results obtained could serve as a model for application in other areas with similar conditions Keywords: Agricultural_water_management, Environmental_sustainability, and Water_use_efficiency Topic: Sustainable Environmental in Multidisciplinary |
