Abstract

We often read oblique comments spread on social media. Hate speech still occurs due to differences in religion, ethnicity, and social status. Ethnic and racial differences must be a source of strength in building the unity and solidarity of the Indonesian nation and global relations. This is based on the fact that Indonesia is a very diverse country, both culturally, religiously, linguistically, and ethnically. This diversity needs to be maintained and managed to create a harmonious, peaceful, and fair social environment. Character education in early childhood is one of the most important foundations to be instilled in children. School institutions, especially teachers, have an important role in introducing. One of the character values instilled in children is tolerance. Instilling the value of tolerance from an early age is expected to make the next generation of the Indonesian nation into human beings who have a tolerant attitude so that there will be no division due to differences in society. In this case, teachers have a role to play in creating an educational environment that is tolerant and loves diversity. The role of the world of education, especially teachers, is important in affirming national values through mutual respect and appreciation for differences. Global understanding and acceptance of diversity by teachers and education staff is expected to create a more harmonious and sustainable world. This research aims to increase the understanding of tolerance and diversity of teachers and education staff as motivational agents in schools. The research method used is a workshop involving school principals, teachers, and school supervisors in the education unit. The tolerance and diversity workshop is expected to have several key objectives that focus on building understanding, awareness, and cooperation between individuals with different backgrounds.
