Students^ Hate Speech Attitudes in Using Social Media (Quantitative Descriptive Study with Survey Method) (a*) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Pamulang, South Tangerang City, Indonesia Abstract The development of technology and communication not only has a positive impact but also has a negative impact, namely the emergence of various types of violations and even crimes such as hate speech. This research aims to determine students^ hate speech attitudes in using social media in class X SMA Nusantara Plus, Ciputat, South Tangerang for the 2019/2020 academic year. from 3 classes. A sample of 70 students was taken from class X SMA Nusantara Plus, Ciputat, South Tangerang. This research is descriptive research with survey methodology so that the data is analyzed to determine students^ hate speech attitudes in using social media. The data collection instrument in this research used a questionnaire using the normality test formula. The results in this research showed that there was less level of students^ hate speech attitudes in using social media. The research hypothesis used by researchers is to use a one-left side test because it is known that t = 159.738 has a negative value, at a significance level (α-) = 95% or an error degree of 5% (0.05) using SPSS version 2.0. then the calculated t value is 159.738 > t table 1.66724, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The interpretation is that the level of hate speech attitudes in the use of social media among students at SMA Nusantara Plus, Ciputat, South Tangerang City is < 294, which is 143.21 in the very low category.
