IMPLEMENTATION OF LEGAL PROTECTION OF ONLINE LOANS TO THE COMMUNITY

Abstract

Online loans have become an alternative solution for people who need to borrow money quickly and easily.18 million Indonesians owe money to online loans. The method used is in-depth interviews. interviews were conducted to the Investment Alert Task Force Division of the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). The results of this study are the implementation of legal protection carried out by the Financial Services Authority has been carried out by issuing consumer protection regulations, conducting supervision and prosecution of the organizers who violate the provisions, conducting supervision and prosecution of the organizers.
Conducting socialization and education as a preventive measure, and working with stakeholders and technology companies in Indonesia to spread awareness to the public so as not to be trapped by illegal online loans. Until now, OJK is still in the process of improving the implementation of legal protection for the community so that people remain safe in becoming online loan customers.
