Family Education Based on Local Wisdom with Pancasila Values in Realizing Peaceful Schools

Abstract

The problem of this research is based on the challenges of families in maintaining diversity amidst the rapid flow of globalization and social change. Many families in Indonesia are beginning to be eroded by foreign cultures that are not in line with the noble values of the nation, resulting in a decline in the sense of unity, tolerance, and harmony. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method from the phenomenon of several families who have succeeded in implementing local wisdom and Pancasila values in their daily lives. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that family education that integrates local wisdom with Pancasila values is able to shape individual characters who respect differences, uphold humanitarian values, and promote a peaceful and harmonious life.
Families that implement this educational model show an increase in aspects of togetherness, tolerance, and mutual cooperation. Children who are raised in an environment rich in local wisdom and Pancasila values tend to appreciate diversity more and contribute positively to society. Regarding the differences that arise in everyday life, which are often balanced by a high sense of tolerance and mutual respect. A concrete example of this difference can be seen in family dynamics, where the father and mother come from different tribes, use different mother tongues and father^s languages, and serve a variety of dishes. All of this creates diversity in the family environment. As children, we have the opportunity to feel and learn about these differences within the family, and can explore two different cultural customs from both parents on how to parent.
The results of this study show that the implementation of family education based on local wisdom with Pancasila values is very effective in realizing diversity in realizing peaceful schools.
