Abstract

This article is part of the theme of millennial research. The author with the title of political education design for the millennial generation in the era of technological distribution. The era of technological disruption has had an impact on various fields of human life. Including the field of political education learning for millennials who are digital natives. Millennials have many opportunities to learn politics through digital technology. However, unfortunately, many millennials view politics as a complicated area and give the impression that they have supervicial knowledge (superficial) and do not understand the substance deeply. Therefore, new ways of learning politics are needed. One of them is through a critical education approach. Critical education aims to realize learning that has the ability to think critically, build critical awareness, analyze to realize transformative citizens. The qualitative method is the basis of this research by involving informants proportionally. Data analysis is also complemented by an online survey to find out how millennials learn politics. There were 422 students who were polled for their responses regarding this matter in addition to this point in addition to interviews with lecturers who teach political education lessons. The research findings show that the way millennials learn politics requires the concept of critical education. Starting from first, the identification of political content in a political system and structure, second, the analysis stage, third, the transformative stage. This method is believed to produce a millennial generation that has critical, evaluative, and adaptive abilities that are able to overcome challenges in the era of technological disruption.
