Moderate Character as Reflection of Pancasila Values to Develop Life and Career Skills

Abstract

Moderate character is manifestation and reflection of the values of Pancasila. A person who has a moderate character will be able to live side by side harmoniously with others of different religions, tribes, races, and groups. The noble values contained in Pancasila are very relevant to the life & career skills needed in todays work world. This indicates that moderate character is important to support life and career skills. This research aims to explain the moderate character of students at one of the State Islamic universities in Central Java. The research method used is the survey method. Data was collected using valid and reliable questionnaire. The sampling technique uses random sampling technique. 523 of 7th semester students filled out the questionnaire. The results of this research show that students moderate character as 21st-century life and career skill is in the high category with an average score of 203.06. A total of 199 or 38.05% of students are included in the very high criteria, 239 or 45.70% of students are in the high criteria, 84 or 16.06% of students are in the medium criteria, and 1 or 0.19% of students are in the medium criteria. low. The national commitment indicator has the highest average, namely 3.88 out of a score of 4. The indicator with the second highest score is accommodating local culture with an average score of 3.87. Next is the tolerance indicator with an average score of 3.83, followed by the anti-violence indicator with an average score of 3.76.
