Prevention of White Spot Syndrome Virus in tiger shrimp fingerling by using Sonneratia alba leaf boiling extract Nurhidayah, Muliani, Endang Susianingsih, Ince Ayu Khairana Kadriah and Muharijadi Atmomarsono

Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of different immersions in a 1% solution of Sonneratia alba extract on the survival rate of fingerling tiger shrimp after being infected with WSSV. The study was carried out in a completely randomized design with eight treatments, namely A) 12-h immersion- B) 24- C) 36- D) 48- E) 60- F) 72- G) Positive control (infected WSSV but without mangrove extract)- and H) Negative control (without WSSV infection and mangrove extract), with three replications. The stocking density of fingerling was 20 individual/jar. All immersion methods (treatments A to F) were carried out before WSSV infection (concentration 0.1%). During the experiment, fingerling shrimp were fed three times a day as much as 20% of the total biomass per day. Mortality of fingerling was observed every day until eight days. Water quality parameters, including TOM, NH3-N, and NO2-N, were measured at the study^s beginning and end. The results showed that the highest survival rate (85.0%) was obtained by treatment C, while the lowest survival rate (43,33%) was achieved by positive control (treatment G). Soaking the extract of the boiled leaves of Soneratia alba mangrove can increase the resistance of fingerling tiger shrimp from WSSV attack most effectively for 36 hours
